This one’s a jam.

It's difficult to describe to the layperson, or even professional musicians, that this was written in *1875*. That's 20 YEARS before ragtime even EXISTED and 40 years before swing! The 19th century saw an explosion of incredible popular music and it's all essentially been ERASED.

I am disappointed my bluetick coonhound seems to like a song about treeing opossum. She is howling along with you right now. Minus points on her scorecard tonight. :) (iykyk)

That's Appalachian, I don't care what color you are.

This one is by the same songwriting team. This song is so rare I had to get sheet music myself off of ebay!

Another rare Lucas tune, recorded here for the first time:

Man this sounds like every “modern” folk band I heard 10 years ago playing on the street, that’s INSANE this was written in the 1800s. I was thinking this sounds like Poor Man’s Poison on Piano lol you’re amazing dude keep it up

Do you have a PO Box? I can mail you a squirrel pelt

I really like this one way ahead of its time

Hell yea dude great stuff

This might be the most American thing I’ve ever heard. Really great 👍

Love it

Oh man this will be stuck in my head all day now

I really like this one because it hits a bit different. Really well done, Kylan!

I got a better take in the horizontal style and better mic too. I'm going to start making 2 versions I think of some of these, one vertical for IG/TT etc and one horizontal with the sheet music on the screen like before.

interesting that was year before my great great grandfather was born on the black side of my family. thanks for sharing.

They really will write songs about anything, won’t they? 😂 That’s really catchy, though. I like it.

This song has a very similar sound as “Mary’s Gone With A Coon” which I’m a big fan of.
