forget the $699 AI pins. this $8 chip just shattered the barrier for local AI hardware. a developer just forced a 28.9 million-parameter LLM onto a standard ESP32-S3 microcontroller. it costs roughly 8 dollars, runs completely offline, and draws the power of a single LED. conventional wisdom said a model of this size simply would not fit. the chip only has 512 KB of fast SRAM and 16 MB of flash. the breakthrough is architectural. the developer moved the bulk of the embedding table into flash memory and memory-mapped it. the chip only needs to pull about 450 bytes per token, keeping the active working memory inside the fast SRAM. this means you can now embed a capable language model into a physical node for the price of two coffees. and we are already seeing the beginnings of this custom physical hardware. in the video, a creator built a minimalist voice-controlled universal remote using an ESP32. it captures voice and remotely controls the computer over bluetooth LE. he simply says "open chrome and open 20 new tabs", and the custom hardware executes it instantly. we have spent years watching model sizes explode upward. but the true frontier is the opposite direction. when an eight-dollar chip can power offline intelligence and custom physical interfaces, AI becomes local infrastructure rather than a cloud service.

Not to throw shade on the US government, but they have been rejecting science, stalling clean energy advancements, and even planning to drill for fossil fuel in national parks, risking irreparable damage to our climate. One way to fight back is to support companies that move us in the right direction. My friend, one of the founders of Mado Dynamic smart window shades, showed me the prototype of his new technology and I totally geeked out! It may seem like a small thing, but energy loss from windows is a huge contributor to global warming. These shades will automatically adjust to keep heat out (or in, depending on the season and time of day), even when you’re not at home so less fossil fuels are burned to keep homes comfortable. And the founders of the company are trying to create a product with a price point low enough to be broadly accessible to average consumers everywhere from the US to the EU and India. So do me a favor: Check it out and invest in the kickstarter. We can still rally to build good things even when our government is working to destroy things!

The Dark Voyager has opened a Sideways Rift to ANOTHER REALITY! 🟨 According to leaks, the golden Sideways Rift will cycle through four different realities. Currently it's on the first one. Today, I heard the most wonderful and uplifting thing. Andrew Bragg gave a commitment to leave the Liberal Party if it dropped Net Zero and exited the Paris Accord. A treaty that should never have been signed. It is the shadowy figures behind Andrew Bragg, Alex Hawke and the rest of the useless Labor/Teal-“moderate”-left-faction of the Liberal Party that got the party and the country into this mess. They rolled Tony Abbott, who won a mandate, promising to scrap the carbon tax. They have betrayed that promise ever since. Our energy woes have been a long time coming. We didn’t just wake up one day in an energy poor and deindustrialised nation. We have been under sustained attack for decades, an attack that has been marshalled by the left of politics. They control Labor, they have ruined the Liberals and have overrun just about every institution in the country. It is why the business council, sounds the same as the Australia Institute, and they both sound the same as the Greens. We are a nation in a hole, and Bragg admitted as much in his interview on Insiders today. We really need more coal, because the energy transition is failing. It is worse than that, the transition has failed. It was a bad idea, just like the rest of Net Zero. Our predicament is the result of irresponsible governments across Australia. Labor and Liberal, both have set policies that destroyed coal as the backbone of our grid, as they duchessed the Green grifters around their respective states across Australia. They played along with whatever bad idea the Greens were spouting at the time. Close this facility, replace it with a windmill. No to nuclear. No to gas. Close it, shut it, and replace it with fantasy. Turnbull, Kean, Perrottet, Berejiklian, Andrews, Morrison Albanese, and all of the rest, on a unity ticket that flushed our energy future down the toilet. All because they were afraid to upset Greta Thunberg. Because they were afraid to upset a youth, that they allowed our institutions to indoctrinate into a cult of ignorance. The world is slowly pulling in a new direction. Because hard reality has chased down fantasy. They’re waking up to the monorail that is ‘green’ energy, and ripping out the tracks. The National Party spurred by One Nation have cottoned on, and the Liberals will be dragged into the modern era, kicking and screaming. There is no doubt that if they don’t drop the Net Zero cake, and all of the icing that goes with it, they will never be a party of government again. Which brings us back to Andrew Bragg. Australia would be better off if he was not pretending to oppose Labor from the Liberal benches. We need people in opposition that understand the problems we have as a nation, and how to solve them. Not people who have only ever worked in the industry of politics, sending happy snaps along the way. Bragg knows his only chance at a job in the red house is through the blue team. He knows that blue voters don’t prioritise action on climate. But he sits there wasting a space advocating against the things the people that vote for him want. So if he had any decency, he would go, today. Because with friends like Andrew Bragg, you don’t need enemies. I just want Australia back.
