Cast saws hv a sharp,small-toothed blade dat rapidly vibrtes back n 4h n doesn't spin around lyk a circular saw.Against firm surface of a plaster/fiberglass,cast saw wil cut da material but against our skin, cast saw only mves da skin back n 4th wid da vibration,nt cutng into skin

Cast saws use rapid oscillations, not continuous rotation, allowing them to slice through hard casts while sparing soft tissue. Their genius lies in precision—strong enough for fiberglass, gentle enough for skin.

If only I knew this as a 12 year old. Was so scared for the 15 mins because the doctor was so casual in cutting the cast and was pushing it hard.

That's really cool, Science girl! Oscillating tools are so clever for delicate work.
