Cataract Diary: part 1. This week I'm having a cataract removed. I thought I'd document the process and the recovery. I may regret it. But I hope some will find it useful. #spenleye

My wife developed cataracts in both eyes, for unknown reasons (no steroids or diabetes as causes), had the operation and never looked back 😉 Perfect vision at distance and colour vibrancy return. Close up - you will need glasses.

Ha… am on Day 6 following cataract surgery to left eye. Both eyes were ‘done’ on 28 Jan, left was ‘redone’ last Tuesday since not satisfactory. Drops are a bore but now have it down to a fine art… it takes time for the eyes to settle.. I wish you well and good luck…

Had cataracts removed from both eyes with a machine using ultrasound. All over in 10 minutes for each eye 5 weeks apart.. Nothing to write home about. Free on the NHS with SpaMedica.

I had cataracts removed from both eyes last year at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield. Such a fantastic, helpful, friendly & life changing service they provided. I'm the ripe old age of 56, so it's not just the elderly that get it done. No illness/medical conditions.

I've had 3 ops in the past 6 months - yes 3. Actual procedures were a walk in the park. Just make sure they are using the correct refractive index scan. Mine was mixed with someone else of the same name and they used the incorrect strength lens as a result. Hence a 3rd procedure!

I'm pleased that we managed to begin the appropriations process on a bipartisan basis this week, and I hope it will continue that way. Hopefully this is a sign that Democrats’ implicit threats to shut down the government will be left by the wayside.
