Two red foxes were seen exploring shelf ice on Lake Michigan on Thursday, January 22. Nathan Voytovick, who operates Nate’s Dronography, captured drone footage of the two creatures climbing on top of the iced-covered lake in Saint Joseph, Michigan. “One of the most beautiful things I’ve seen,” Voytovick wrote in a Facebook post. The National Weather Service (NWS) said cold temperatures over the course of the week had allowed ice to build up on the shores of the lake. “Please do not venture out onto the ice! Shelf ice can be incredibly unstable,” the weather agency warned.

Nobody experiences pure joy quite like a dog realizing one of the presents under the tree is actually THEIR present. No waiting. No careful unwrapping. No concern whatsoever for the structural integrity of the wrapping paper. Just: “FOR ME?! I HAVE BEEN CHOSEN.” And somehow, watching them get this excited over a gift they could’ve happily lived without makes every dollar, every shredded piece of paper, and the cleanup afterward completely worth it. Dogs don’t just open presents… they remind us what it feels like to be ridiculously excited about the little things again.

The Sycamore Gap Tree in the Uk was illegally cut down in 2023 by two men in an act of vandalism. The tree was estimated to be 120-150 years old and had become an iconic spot to visit. Most people referred to it as the Robin Hood tree as it was in the movie that Kevin Costner was in. The tree was also in Bryan Adams music video "Everything I do, I do it for you," and a few other shows. It was one of the country's most photographed trees and an emblem for the North East of England. The two men, Daniel Graham and Adam Carrutherswere sentenced to 4 years and 3 months in July 2025. Luckily the stump has thrown up basal shoots and cuttings have been gathered from the tree but it's estimated it will be 150 years from now before it becomes what it once was.

Thoothukudi on June 21, 2026 (yesterday event, 2nd photo enclosed) In 2013, it was hard to see whether the funnel cloud touched the ground. But IMD officials confirmed that it was Tornado after thorough analysis. This time, IMD has stated that the Thoothukudi event of June 2026 was not a tornado. However, instead of undertaking a detailed investigation into why such an unusual phenomenon occurred and whether similar events could become more frequent in the future, the matter appears to have been closed rather hastily. There are compelling reasons why the Thoothukudi event warrants closer scientific scrutiny. What makes the event noteworthy is the combination of: • A visible funnel cloud/vortex; • Reported injuries (6 members of the public) • Structural damage and uprooted trees see the video - • Occurrence beneath an active thunderstorm. Taken together, these characteristics are consistent with features commonly associated with weak tornadoes or landspouts.
