When asked why Trump would impose additional tariffs on Canada in the middle of trade negotiations, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said because Canada retaliated in response to President Trump’s initial tariffs. “The only other country in the world who retaliated on tariffs was the Chinese. And so, if the president is going to take an action and the Canadians retaliate, the United States needs to maintain the integrity of our action, the effectiveness,” Greer told Margaret Brennan in an interview on Friday.

Liberals are “the surest path to greater evil”. So said the new Liberal MP from Scarborough, a former New Democrat. The Carney Liberals have gotten to a majority by luring people to sacrifice their former convictions in pursuit of power. This might be good for them, but it is bad for Canada because it weakens our democracy. Our country needs robust democratic debate about real ideas, not leaders who trade everything for power.
