⚠️ CBC News has reversed course and admitted that 9/11 was terrorism. Great! Because hijacking passenger planes and deliberately massacring civilians is in fact terrorism. But there’s a glaring problem. What about October 7? Terrorism doesn't stop being terrorism because the victims are Israeli. And Hamas isn't some ambiguous...

@CBCNews reap what you sow - the time for reining behavior was LONG ago - plus are her parents really role models?

@CBCNews "When they are done with the Saturday people, they will come for the Sunday people". We have many problems in the West, but this one is existential.

Look carefully at these images. Twenty-five years ago, we Iranians took to the streets after 9/11. We lit candles. We mourned the victims. We chanted against terrorism. We did not need anyone to explain terrorism to us. We had lived it. We knew what it looked like. We knew what it meant when innocent people become targets simply because extremists have declared them enemies. Twenty-five years later, I am here in America, and it breaks my heart to see that defeating terrorism is still not treated as a common human cause. Instead, even terrorism has been dragged into partisan politics. And what troubles me most is watching parts of the Western left offer excuses, romanticize, or even express solidarity with forces such as Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and the Islamic Republic instead of standing unequivocally with the people who have suffered from their violence. Terrorism does not become resistance because you like its political slogan. Believe me, a terrorist does not become a freedom fighter because his victims belong to the “wrong” side of your politics. On September 11, 2001, ordinary Iranians understood something very simple: the victims deserved our solidarity, and the terrorists deserved our condemnation. That principle should not be controversial 25 years later. You can oppose war. You can criticize governments. You can disagree fiercely about foreign policy. But there should never be a left-wing terrorism and a right-wing terrorism. There is terrorism and there are its victims. Twenty-five years ago, Iranians lit candles for Americans. Today, from America, I still believe in the same principle: Stand with the victims. Stand against terrorism. No excuses. No double standards.

#WATCH | At the 80th session of UNGA, EAM Dr S Jaishankar says, "India has confronted this challenge since its independence, having a neighbour that is an epicentre of global terrorism. For decades now, major international terrorist attacks are traced back to that one country. UN's designated lists of terrorists are replete with its nationals. The most recent example of cross-border barbarism was the murder of innocent tourists in Pahalgam in April this year. India exercised its right to defend its people against terrorism and brought its organisers and perpetrators to justice. "While asserting our rights, we must also firmly face up to threats. Countering terrorism is a particular priority because it synthesises bigotry, violence, intolerance and fear. Because terrorism is a shared threat, it is essential that there is much deeper international cooperation. When nations openly declare terrorism a state policy, when terror hubs operate on an industrial scale, when terrorists are publicly glorified, then such actions must be unequivocally condemned. The financing of terrorism must be choked even as prominent terrorists are sanctioned. Relentless pressure must be applied on the entire terrorism ecosystem. Those who condone nations that sponsor terror will find that it comes back to bite them." (Source: UN TV)
