This is the portion of the CECOT ‘60 Minutes’ piece that Bari Weiss seems to have had the most issues with, specifically two things.... 1. She wrote Alfonsi and her team she was using months-old soundbites of President Trump and Karoline Leavitt when they should have sought on-camera interviews with Tom Homan or Stephen Miller. 2. Weiss was also concerned about the HRW data Alfonsi heralded, calling it “an incongruent picture” as “we say nearly half” of the Venezuelans sent to CECOT had no criminal history and moved on instead of explaining how many more could be facing charges (since going off of fully convictions might be incomplete)
