Rose petals fell today in the Pantheon for Pentecost. The Pantheon was consecrated as the church of St Mary and the Martyrs in 609. An old Pentecost custom, revived in 1995, drops red rose petals through the oculus after Mass, recalling the tongues of fire described in Acts.
