The Sunday megablock has settled into the civic calendar beside the water cut and the pre-monsoon pothole survey. Announced on Friday, endured on Sunday, forgotten by Monday. A commuter on a daily wage who loses a shift does not forget it so fast.

Mumbai Locals: Commuters Risk Life by Boarding Trains from Tracks Amid Crowds A dangerous scene unfolded at a Mumbai local station as massive crowds on the platform forced some commuters to step directly onto the tracks to board trains. Many attempted to board trains against the designated direction, creating a high-risk situation. Authorities are urging passengers to follow safety rules and avoid crossing tracks to prevent accidents. #mumbailocals #mumbaicommuters #railsafety #traincrowds #mumbai #indianrailways #trafficsafety #platformcrowds #safetravel #traincommute #mumbaitraffic Mumbai local trains, platform overcrowding, commuters on tracks, unsafe train boarding, train safety, Mumbai railways, crowd management, passenger safety, local train commute, railway authorities, accident risk, train direction rules

When I said that automatic doors in Mumbai non-AC trains may not work, this is the demo. Frankly, Mumbai needs an RRTS system to run parallel to local trains and integrated with metro with an independent right of way.

Many Mumbaikars have been conditioned to accept overcrowded local trains in the name of the "Spirit of Mumbai." Millions travel in overcrowded local trains every day, packed so tightly that basic dignity and safety disappear. What should be seen as a serious infrastructure failure is often celebrated as resilience.
