When I said that automatic doors in Mumbai non-AC trains may not work, this is the demo. Frankly, Mumbai needs an RRTS system to run parallel to local trains and integrated with metro with an independent right of way.

Just yesterday, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw decided that the production of these trains would be accelerated at the Central Government's modern railway coach factories, including the ones where Vande Bharat trains are manufactured. The first batch is set to arrive in 2027, and by 2029–30, all of Mumbai's suburban trains will be transformed into clean, modern, air-conditioned trains... *WATCH* 🎥 A British couple traveled to Mumbai and checked out the metro trains. They were shocked to see how CLEAN, SPOTLESS, and MODERN the new-age public transportation in Mumbai is. Mumbai is not perfect. It’s not even close. But this metro train and the city skyline towards the end of the video didn’t exist 15 years ago. India has a long way to go. But it’s building, and it’s building fast. Only a fool would bet against unstoppable momentum and the fastest growing major economy in the world. India will be unrecognizable in 20 years.

One man was murdered inside a moving train with a knife, while another passenger was attacked with a sickle after a seat dispute. Now, a Lokmat Times sting has exposed a shocking security lapse in the Mumbai Metro. One might argue that such lapses are harder to prevent across Mumbai’s vast suburban rail network, but there is no excuse for them in the Metro. CSMT-bound 12126 Pune-Mumbai Pragati Express crosses over to enter the Up Through line at Vikhroli as the sixth line on which it is travelling ends abruptly at Vidyavihar and the train needs to continue its journey ahead to Dadar & then CSMT, in the process detaining a fast suburban EMU local train. Every such crossover leads to loss of time for Express as well as suburban trains, which get lined up adding to the delay domino effect. #Mumbai #MumbaiRailway
