I read this book set in contemporary UK. The main character stopped at a shop and got a cheese and onion sandwich. That’s it. A crime against sandwiches.

I’ve seen the food the English people eat and that’s absolute garbage. They eat breakfast that has more fucking sodium than the Dead Sea. And look at her plate… what the fuck is that?!. I’ve seen shady fast food restaurants serve better food than that.

When in London I was treated to a special meal at a restaurant featuring its premiere entree...beans on toast. Come on, people. I've got a toaster, a can opener, and some Van de Camps at home.

United States should on the level of England. There is no unique food in the United States. Everything you eat is from other countries.

@zenoc_oshits Nearly every country in the world has better food than England. Maybe Haiti doesn't cuz they eat cats? 🤔Never heard good things about England food. Was stationed with a gal who grew up there. Didn't even claim it was good. Thanfully her dad was Italian.

I hosted five Englishmen in the U.S. on temporary assignment. ‘97 or so. They could never stop complimenting the food quality, portion size, and the quality of service. They worked around the world and thought American food to be preferable.
