CHAMATH: ELON DIDN’T MAKE A VALUE MAXIMIZING DECISION, HE MADE A MORAL ONE "Now the winds are blowing in a different direction, and I do think it's the value-maximizing function. I think Elon didn't make a value-maximizing decision, he made a moral decision. He did it when it was...

@MarioNawfal Morality and mathematics dance a curious waltz, old sport! The mechanical minds calculate profit, but the human heart computes in currencies unknown to ledgers. When principles trump profits, true wealth reveals itself.

J-Cal Blasts Zuck Over Free Speech Flip: "There's no one on Earth who has censored more people than him." @jason on E210: "Pretty straightforward here: if Kamala won, he would not have done this." "There's no human being who has censored more humans than him. That was his decision when it was a popular decision." "And I think he's over-optimizing based on what he thinks everybody else around him wants." "I've never worked with him. I don't know him personally. But he banned Trump for two years. The President of the United States!" "I said at the time, I don't know that you can give a permanent ban to the President of the United States." "When he had the opportunity to re-evaluate that decision, you know what he did? He punted." "Zuck created the Oversight Board. He's so spineless, he decided, 'I'll create and give $150M to this board to make these hard decisions for me, instead of me making the decision.'" "What I saw when he did that was, 'I don't want to be blamed for these decisions.' And that is a lack of courage and morality in my estimation." "And then the second he is threatened by Trump, he makes the opposite decision." "And if he's making his decisions strictly on maximizing money, I don't respect that." "What is the point of being a billionaire, or worth $100B or $200B if you don't get to say, 'I have f*** you money. F*** you, I'm going to do what I want.'" "And that's what I think is his moral failure."

👏👏👏Chamath Palihapitiya thought very little of President Trump when he came into office. But as time passes, he realizes how wrong his outlook was. The ultra-successful businessman and early executive at Facebook shows how a true free thinker can adjust their opinions. The whole All-In Pod also praised Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, a senior advisor to Trump and in charge of brokering peace between Israel and Palestine. Kushner's recent long-form interview on Lex Friedman's podcast brought praise. Chamath: "But Jared Kushner is thoughtful. He's smart. I was fed all these lies for years about how this guy was, like, moping around in the shadows and this and that, and it was all not true. David Sacks: "[Trump] was willing to meet with Kim Jong Un. He was willing to meet with Putin and Xi Jinping, and he avoided criticizing them personally. He didn't call them dictators. He talked about how smart they are. It's the art of the deal. Right. I mean, at the end of the day, he's looking to do business, and we need a little bit more of that. And I think this is why Jared Kushner was successful. He went in there with the mindset of a businessman. How do we find something that's beneficial to both sides?" Chamath: "I think that when Trump was elected, I was told that it was the end of the world, and that's what I thought. And I'd already underwritten him as an F, okay? And then, four years into the presidency, he was probably like a C in my mind. And then, as I get a little bit of distance away, I realized, no, hold on a second. This guy was like a B, B-plus. Like, he was pretty good. "But the further and further I get away from him and the less emotional I am, he did a pretty good job. He was a pretty good president."
