A few things that East Grand Forks, Minnesota is doing a little bit differently… 1. Their 10u squirts play in-house until January when they form travel teams 2. Their 10u squirts play half ice games until January when they form travel teams 3. Their 10u squirt teams don’t have more than 10 players on a team 4. Their 10u squirts follow LTAD principles where all coaches are coaching all players in station based practices. Last season they won the Minnesota State High School championship. Associations are taking notice of their success and their LTAD (long term athlete development) approach and starting to incorporate these principles into their development plans. Amazing stuff.

Don’t usually make posts like this but it’s honestly disappointing how this space treats individuals who’ve found success. The constant effort to tear down those who trade with size, who have conviction, who’ve earned their position is exactly why so many like GCR, Hsaka, and others have distanced themselves from CT. These people aren’t gone because they lost touch. They’re just done explaining themselves to those who don’t want to listen. I personally don’t have the time or energy to FUD anyone. It’s mid-July, the sun’s out, my time is better spent enjoying it than arguing on here. To the haters, especially VIKTOR , and many others keep talking. Real ones see through it.

Coaching from the stands is disrespectful to … Your kid!! The best players can figure out solutions on their own, they don’t need help from the stands. Each game is an opportunity for players to learn how to do that. Yes, they will fail, but they will learn. And ultimately they will be a better player because of it. Shouting instructions from the stands only shows that you don’t believe they have the ability to make adjustments, and you aren’t good with failing so they can grow.

this is kind of pathetic. Paul Bissonette, on NHL Postgame show on TNT said NHL needs to look into addressing the teams that don’t have to pay state income tax to their players because it’s too much of an advantage in the next CBA. That’s soft. Anson Carter quickly checked him.

Obviously, don’t be neurotic about things that you have no control over - but absolutely don’t let your standards (and health) slip because others say it’s okay to do so. The whole world already tells us enough of that slop. Some people derive satisfaction from perceiving themselves as too good to make an effort to change. This mentality will hold you back from ascension. Do your own best, take one thing at a time, don’t become overwhelmed and don’t become demotivated. The ones that stick with these things day after day win in the end.
