I agree, coinbase and a16 are key players in trying to run a monopoly on ETH and close the door on the rest.

Charles makes an interesting point. Ripple's regulatory clarity post-SEC could make them a more stable steward for USDC than traditional fintech or VC. The stablecoin ecosystem needs decentralized governance, not more Silicon Valley control.
