Here's my first Waymo ride in Nashville last night. It started off well, but the vehicle got confused and stuck 4 minutes in. After about 10 minutes of trying, rider support got it moving again, but then it couldn't continue, so they had to escalate to another specialist. After another ~10 minutes, they said the Waymo could not complete the trip, and that I should call an Uber or Lyft ride to reach my destination. I was 3-4 minutes from my destination when the Waymo initially got stuck. The vehicle was on call with support for about 20 minutes in total. While it would have been nice to reach my destination lol, I'm honestly not mad about it because it was interesting to see the whole process of them trying to get it going again and how Waymo support deals with situations like this (which are pretty rare). The support team was really nice and communicative. Have to fly back home to New England tomorrow, but hopefully will try another robotaxi ride in Nashville in the future, and of course other cities.

Grinder told me it wouldn't open anything or contact anyone until I sent the words "run it", so I sent it. It opened Restream's support chat, got through their AI agent to a real human, and when they told it to cancel itself in settings, it pushed back and asked for an actual priced offer to keep the plan since it was canceling otherwise. The support rep said they don't have a retention offer. So it went into the billing page, got to the final cancel button, and stopped there. While it was sitting on that button, its report flagged that my next payment is $39.20, not the $49 I thought I was paying. The bot looked, and there was already a discount applied to the account. I have no idea whether that came from Bot or if Restream applied it on their own, but either way, there was no better deal to get. So I kept it. All I did the whole time was sign in once and answer a system notification whenever Bot needed permission for something. And the pothole was a little deep and tires rolling over the deep pothole caused a little splash, which was not intentional. After that, these goons chased the car and stopped it a little ahead. You can hear from their language what kind of hooligans they were. I tried to stay calm and tried to explain that it was not intentional but they were not ready to listen to any reasoning. Probably their plan was to take my car to the side and extort money but I refused to take it to the side. Then one of the boys kicked at my car causing a dent and then ran away. Probably their plan was to take my car to the side and extort money but I refused to take it to the side. Then one of the boys kicked at my car causing a dent and then ran away. I reported this to the police and registered a FIR and gave them the two wheeler number MH12 GP 6147 immediately, but I don't think the police will take any action. The two wheeler's insurance has expired since 2012. They refused to issue any challan also. This kind of incident is common in Pune, Kharadi area and has happened with my colleagues also. This man applied for a job and was hired but told them he could start for 6 weeks because he wanted to do some traveling for leisure. They cancelled his job offer and he feels it wasn’t because of the missed drug test, so what is he implying the reasoning behind it was then? I didn’t do drugs on a normal basis anyways. But my best friends were pot heads. On the day before my drug test I was smoking a cigarette and my friend asked for a hit and I gave it to him. The other friend passed me a joint and I took it thinking it was my cigarette and I took a long dragged and almost coughed up a lung. I panicked, I just had taken a hit of pot when I had to be drug tested for a new job the next day. I went to the testing and did it, I got a call a few days later from HR confirming I passed and I told her I was worried because my friends smoke and I thought it would show up in my system as a second hand application. She said nah don’t worry, we only test for the hard stuff anyways. That part I didn’t know, but after that I saw my other buddies pass their work related tests too so maybe it was more widespread than I knew.
