• Lane changes now initiate as soon as the turn signal is activated, without needing to apply steering wheel torque. -> nope , it still asks me too

Tested it earlier today. Worked great. Without the hands on the steering wheel nag alerts still come after 15" (when i was in the US in July it was 2 minutes!!!). Touching the steering wheel with 1 or 2 fingers were only needed to avoid the nag which is truly great. Lane changes without torque are confirmed. A step in the right direction + thx for informing us.

I tested it yesterday on the German autobahn and country roads. Driving is now much more relaxed; just a light touch on the steering wheel is enough. Hands-free is still not possible, as shown in the video. My car has the full autonomous driving package.

The whole point is that i don’t want to hold hands on the wheel! At least less turning force needed to hold it active i guess.

Yesterday I drove to Cologne. Since FSD is still unavailable in Germany, I had to rely on Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) for the entire trip. Honestly, it was a disappointing experience. EAP makes frequent steering corrections, changes lanes poorly, and feels far less predictable and confidence-inspiring. On roads with unclear lane markings, it constantly wanders left and right, which doesn’t feel safe. After driving over 10,000 km with FSD, the difference is impossible to ignore. FSD drives much more naturally, stays smoother in its lane, and anticipates traffic far better. FSD needs to come to all of Europe as soon as possible. The difference in both comfort and safety is huge.

I've seen a bunch of videos complaining about the new driver monitoring system, but every driver seems to mess it up. Here are a few tips to avoid getting a strike and not getting beeped: Keep your hands on the wheel and apply gentle torque in one direction. Keep your eyes on the road. Do this IMMEDIATELY after activating Autopilot. The monitoring is most strict in the first seconds after activation. Don't wiggle the steering wheel like a lunatic. Don't activate Autopilot while holding a phone in your hand. Look at the road every few seconds when you're using the screen. If you follow that from the start, just gently applying torque during the drive is enough, and you can even shoot a video without getting beeped:

Unfortunately still experiencing the steering wheel wobble with V14 Lite. Important to note that this only happens on FSD and does not happen on Autopilot. I wonder how this can be fixed Tesla AI

The NTSB ordered Tesla to restrict Autopilot use to the freeways it was designed for in 2016 and again in 2019 after two fatal crashes with cross traffic. Tesla ignored them and more people were killed. In 2023 NHTSA recalled Autopilot for this same problem. Tesla claimed to have fixed the issue. Tesla lied. Even today, Autopilot can be engaged on any road with lane markings. More people will be killed because of this. Elon Musk's callous indifference to human life is sickening. He should not be allowed anywhere near safety critical software.
