I seem to remember decades ago I was a young child there was an eclipse, we were told to watch it by looking at it reflected in a bowl of water.

The UK will experience a partial solar eclipse on Wednesday, losing sight of around 90% of the sun. Eclipse glasses, which, according to NASA, are "thousands of times darker" than sunglasses, are needed to view the event safely. 🔗

Solar eclipses can be exciting! But if you aren’t careful, they can harm your eyes, even permanently. Here’s how you can safely watch an eclipse 👇 ✅ Dos - Use solar eclipse glasses or a handheld solar viewer that meets the ISO 12312-2 international safety standards—at all times - Supervise kids closely - Inspect glasses or viewers for damage before use ❌ Don'ts - Using unsafe filters like sunglasses, smartphone cameras, x-rays, etc. - Removing glasses or lens at any time while viewing the eclipse - Viewing the eclipse through unfiltered cameras or telescope even with eclipse glasses Ensure safety first! If you notice any changes in your vision after viewing the eclipse, seek immediate advice from an eye care professional.

⚠️ Double check your ECLIPSE GLASSES! Jennifer, a Registered Optician and the Executive director of the Ontario Opticians Association has kindly put together this video explaining how to spot fake eclipse glasses She found a pair of counterfeit eclipse glasses to show you the difference between the real ones and the fakes. The second pair are the real ones. You should see nothing except the sun, reflections of the sun, the filament from incandescent blubs or a tiny bit of light from your phones flashlight If you aren't sure if your eclipse glasses are from a trusted brand, check to see if yours are on this list: Stay safe tomorrow! - Brennen & Adam
