On station yes for sleep hygiene. The plants are on a fixed cycle at 4500K. However, we turn on bright light in the morning shift to normal light and then dimmer light in the evening to keep our circadian rhythms intact. Blue light in the 480 nm spectrum can disrupt your circadian rhythm if you’re getting it at the wrong time. When we look out the window, there is plenty of that spectrum because it’s always sunny in Space :) So we have to be careful! Of course, we see 90 minute orbital cycles, so we really need the light inside of Station to help drive our circadian rhythms. This will be an important piece of a moon base and Mars exploration.

@Astro_Jessica @astro_hathaway @NASA @Space_Station Right now we send up protein on cargo supply like Dragon, Cygnus, HTV, which contain thermostabilized or irradiated food with long shelf lives. Some of the are really good.

I realy want to build a green house that can adopt rush type effect where a small amount of pressure is aloud to escape from the green house to create a cold rush to then heat it up to create condensation If it was possible an endless amount of cold If the effect was possible - even better Its like flipping the idea of what it would do to your body flipping it inside out ... Only like a rocket in space ismr a form of making a bomb or maybe not quite as dangerous as peeling an orange to give a constant pull of air that is in the pressurised cabin and pulling it like a whistle to complete the cycle --------------------------------‐--------- @NASA Just had an idea tho when you squeeze an orange over a flame you get ------ !!!
