Chills. Every time… 13th Warrior, prayers before battle - “Merciful Father, I have squandered my days with plans of many things. This was not among them. But at this moment, I beg only to live the next few minutes well. For all we ought to have thought, and have... show more

This is legit one of the greatest movie scenes. So well done.

This movie should have had bigger box office, it was very well done. It's based on a book by Michael Crichton; he based the book of a documented historical account of an Arab meeting the Vikings. It's a good read.

This is essentially the best D&D movie out there, san magic users. Introducing a new character and archetype to an established party who is summoned back to their homeland to fight an ancient evil that is not what it seems....

I have a most unreasonable fondness for this movie.

Legitimately one of my top 5 favorite movies ever made. This and Knights Tale are 2 movies that I am incapable of passing by. If I see them on, I will drop everything and watch to the end

Coming to Amazon Prime in five days.

All time underrated banger of a film! I watched it many many times growing up! It holds up very well to this day!

Back when movies were still great, and Hollywood had not yet fallen. This will always be one of my favorite movies. Outstanding all the way around. From the costumes to the sets, props, acting, direction, writing, all of it. Fantastic!

in 2003, my squad from the 82d Abn would say the second half of that prayer just before getting on the helicopters, to fly out and do operations in Afghanistan. Damn good movie.

Agree 💯. From one vet to another, thank you for your service, brother.

13th Warrior is a movie about a Muslim teaching Vikings English! Just kidding! It's a great movie, but I always find the swap of language funny 😄

Completely underrated movie. My buddy had the VHS at his hunting cabin. We probably watched it 1000x until the tape broke.

Love that movie.

Same

I whispered that in my father's ear before he passed. He loved that movie.

Haven't seen this movie in a looong ass time.

Love this movie. IMO the closest movie to a RE Howard Conan story.

Better

Prayer is good at all times, but especially when in combat. "Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle." Psalm 144:1

Seriously underrated movie.

one of my fav movies

This is my favorite movie, hands down. BUT, most of this last scene was lifted almost directly from Conan the Barbarian. Compare this to Conan praying before the final big battle. Even some of the shots are verbatim.

Great film! Loved it. Particular reminisces from where I used to live!! Story for another day...

This is my all time fav Indy movie. The best one Antonio Banderas ever did in my opinion. This role was meant for him. The story was amazing, and the cameo with Omar Sharif made this legendary for me! Plus all the actors who played the Norse men, were as far as I knew not huge actors and they hit it out of the park! I have watched this movie every year since it was released and its part of my DVD library, I actually bought it. Because it deserved to be purchased!

Prayer before pitched battle: I didn’t wish for life, only to not falter my people

This film goes hard. Total cult classic ✨

The over all basis of the story can be viewed as a more plausible retelling of the story of Beowulf/Buliwyf and Grendel/Wendol. Take it as Michael Crichton writing as what if Beowulf and Grendel tale was real, this is what might have really happened. The rest became legend.

Absolutely great movie. Absolutely the vibe I want in my TTRPG. Kind of a pity PCs turn it into a clown car with swords and magic wands about half the time. 😉

I wasn't one to rent a movie and watch it 3 or 4 times I'm a row, but my dad rented this and I watched it 10 or 13 times, back to back

Good man

i still don't understand why this movie got so much hate.. i pull it out at least once a year.

"THEY'RE NOT BEARS!! THEY ARE MEN!!!"

Such an underrated movie. Classic hero tale, awesome main and ancillary characters, quality humor to go with the action. Guess I need to watch it again.

One of my favorite movies !

I need to rewatch the movie now

Banderas' best movie in Hollywood. Great picture.

In my last moments, allow me to meet my end on my feet shoulder to shoulder with my brothers. Shields locked and sword drawn. Let them hear my war cry!
