In the footage, the vehicle, developed by the American Sierra Nevada Corporation company, can be seen being targeted by a Russian FPV drone. The vehicle is not in its full intended configuration, which is perfectly normal for a running mock-up based on the MARDER chassis. As early as 1977, Thyssen-Henschel began developing a concept with externally mounted armament (Scheitellafette) on the MARDER chassis. The MARDER chassis seemed ideal for testing this idea – it offered sufficient internal volume and a layout that left space behind the remote weapon station, where an automatic loader was planned to be installed. The main advantage of this layout was the vehicle’s relatively low silhouette. However, a major drawback was the completely unprotected gun. Although the blueprints included breech protection, it only guarded against automatic cannon fire. On the other hand, actually hitting such a small target with the main gun would still have been extremely difficult. The external armament mount itself was very close in concept to the ideas behind the Soviet “Object 450” in its 1973 configuration. Several engineering solutions were developed for the necessary rotating sighting systems and automatic ammunition feed. After the test program was completed, work on the project was discontinued. Thyssen-Henschel tried to apply the technical solution to other experimental vehicles in the company’s lineup, but those attempts also proved unsuccessful.

A UH-60M Black Hawk launched two reconnaissance LE-MRs equipped with active/passive infrared sensors from wing-mounted launchers. The systems successfully detected, identified, located, and reported (DILR) threats, then cued a dedicated strike variant — the Long Range Precision Munition (LRPM) — which autonomously identified and destroyed a high-value target. The LE-MR tested consisted of: • Anduril Altius 700 air vehicle • Government-developed Launched Effects Dispenser for Ground and Rotorcraft(LEDGR) and mission payloads The tube-launched LEDGR can support multiple LE variants. The Altius 700 is rocket-boosted out of the tube before transitioning to electric propulsion. Beyond wing-mounted launches, the Army is also testing a side-launch configuration from the UH-60 cabin, capable of carrying up to 24 LEs. The LRPM strike variant can be launched from both air and ground platforms, with a range exceeding 290 km. It can network with other LE systems to form “wolfpack”-like collaborative formations, penetrate contested environments, and conduct precision strikes. The LRPM strike variant can be launched from both air and ground platforms, with a range exceeding 290 km. It can network with other LE systems to form “wolfpack”-like collaborative formations, penetrate contested environments, and conduct precision strikes. It can also operate independently, providing commanders with flexible employment options. LRPM is fielding expected to begin before the end of 2027.

422nd Separate Unmanned Systems Battalion "LUFTWAFFE" have now demonstrated the destruction of a second Russian "Volna Kupol Garant" electronic warfare system designed to disrupt Starlink communications. According to Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov, adviser to Ukraine's Minister of Defense on defense technology, the system works by transmitting powerful interference towards individual Starlink satellites, preventing them from receiving signals from user terminals on the ground. Its main limitation is that each complex can effectively suppress only a single satellite at a time, providing coverage of roughly 20 square kilometers. To achieve this, the "Volna Kupol Garant" employs multiple large satellite antennas mounted on trailers and consumes significant amounts of electrical power. Developed by the Simferopol-based company "Russian Dome", the system was reportedly sold to the Russian military for approximately $1.5 million per unit. The first destruction of such a system was showcased earlier today by SBU's Alpha Group and the 422nd Separate Unmanned Systems Battalion. (Shown in the second part of the video)
