Outside the western world china and japan are two of a select few nations with superior problem solving and engineering capabilities. India does not fall into that category which could be attributed to a cultural and educational mindset that limits innovation and rewards adherence to set guidelines instead of allowing for out of the box thinking, hence the superior economic might and visibly better workforce in those countries. Having the largest population on earth but placing shackles on their ability to innovate will ultimately leave you with dependents instead of stakeholders in growth and success

Fascinating. I didn’t realize how close the two economies were in the 80s. India actually surpassed China’s GDP for a moment then

When countrie’s GDP grows that fast it will drop the same as it grows. We will see India’s growth in next decade.

Why was India unable to grow like China did in the 90s and 2010s?

what you aren't grasping is that these charts looks like this due to the debasement of currency. Nominal amounts priced in hyperinflated currency.

Good visual representation. China has obviously made much faster progress in growing its economy for multitude of reasons. 👍
