China on Thursday announced that it has successfully completed a comprehensive test for the landing and take off of its manned lunar lander "Lanyue" at a test site in Huailai County in the northern Chinese province of Hebei. The "Lanyue" lunar lander is a newly developed extraterrestrial manned descent and ascent vehicle for China's first manned lunar exploration mission, which is primarily designed for transporting astronauts between lunar orbit and the lunar surface. The lander can carry two astronauts on round trips and is equipped to transport a lunar rover and scientific payloads, supporting astronauts in conducting surface activities and extended stays on the moon.

The United States has begun receiving shipments of tungsten, a critical rare-earth mineral, straight from Rwanda for the first time. This is a major milestone for the Trump White House in their push to dismantle China's power over America's mineral supply chain. “It is an honor to see our material from Rwanda here at one of the largest tungsten processors in the world being converted into products that will help make America safer, stronger, more prosperous... In turn, the nearly 7,000 employees of Trinity Metals and the government of Rwanda will benefit from such market access and the deepening of strategic ties between the two countries,” - Trinity Metals Chairman Shawn McCormick. China dominates the critical mineral industry, especially tungsten production, where it produces 80% of the global supply. Rwanda is also a big producer, and the partnership with the United States will help defeat China's mineral monopoly.
