It blows my mind that Republicans think it's a bad idea to diversify our energy sources. They not only end wind and solar subsidies, they actively try to stop renewable energy projects. The oil and gas industry has them in their pockets.

I hate how stupid everyone in this administration is.

Wind is keeping my energy bills low in Iowa. Check it out. This is all about making money for their rich friends.

You can’t just find people this stupid, you have to make them that dumb.

Not even close to being true. Wind and solar can be intermittent but that doesn’t mean they function in a manner that is incongruous with power demand. And it’s idiotic to suggest that cutting energy subsidies somehow lowers the direct cost of energy. Who defends this crap?

Chinese now leads in EVs, solar panels, batteries, wind turbines, and more... And the USA just want to stay with primitive means but then talk about competition.

Ya, cancel all the renewable energy incentives, so we can stick with the high pollution fossil fuel companies. China is cleaning our clock with renewable energy.

These people have no idea that batteries exist. Also, the energy prices aren't coming down. Felon POTUS lied.

China is so far ahead of us. China stores wind energy primarily through large-scale pumped-storage hydropower, which accounts for over half of its storage capacity & allows China to store surplus generation, reducing "curtailment" and stabilizing the grid during low-wind periods.

This guy is an ass clown. Wind and solar energy is bankable and also reduces depletion of other energy sources when used,

So... his logic is that in order to drive down energy costs we need to get rid of cheaper forms of energy? And I'm giving myself a headache here from all the face palming.

If these idiots thinks that peak demand time is in the middle of a storm then he is sadly mistaken. Lets be clear - imagine what would have happened if there was no wind and solar over the last 5 years - where would priced be then.

But we still do oil subsidies….. Solar and wind are the future, China knows it and are now far ahead of us. The GOP wants to take us backwards. In all regards. Anti-science, anti-clean energy and anti-education. We are now digressing instead of progressing. Why?????

Imagine yucking it up that you’ve essentially killed federal support for alternative energy at the precise time a crap country in the mid east has the world by the balls through oil. Utterly moronic. We should be looking everywhere for alternatives. Look at what China is doing. Miles ahead of us. Miles. . .

Meanwhile, the rest of the world is ahead of us in renewable energies, while the GOP gets bankrolled to keeps us dependent on fossil fuels by dirty energy conglomerates! THE GOP IS THE ENEMY FROM WITHIN! ┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐ 卐💩🤡🤡

We humans have figured out a way to make electricity by using the sun, the wind and water velocity, but we choose to continue to burn oil from the Earth.

Solar, wind and power storage provide on average at least 50% of the power on the Texas grid, in spite of right wing lies and legislative efforts to hobble it. Wright is a moron. It also doesn't spike in price when man-baby decides to start WWIII.

This is why gas prices are high. We should've diversified our energy production and intake. We keep shooting ourselves in the foot by being dependent on fossil fuels which are finite instead of renewables. We need to stop electing people who aren't long for this life.

"Everything is Joe Biden's fault" The Republicans should just make that their new slogan since "MAGA" is pretty toxic now according to the polls.

Let’s talk about the trillions of dollars in subsidies that support oil and gas. It’s called war in the Middle East.

He's not wrong about the coincidence of the highest demand hours and generation in the summer, with one exception: offshore wind, which does reasonably well during most high demand hours. The winter is different: onshore and offshore wind are reasonably coincident. Where I think he's wrong is his dismissal of solar and wind as feasible alternatives -- especially now with the rapid emergence of data centers. However, Wright said approvingly the other day that he believed coal would be the dominant fuel for power generation when he dies, so he's not putting any importance on avoided emissions. He's a product of the fossil fuel industry.
