Are we really worried about this as movie fans? The Odyssey is a 3,000 year old mythological story with a Cyclops, sorceress, sirens, and Poseidon. It’s complete fiction, just set in a vaguely specific time period. It’s only ever been “accurate” to the time it was written and was passed down for years before being put to paper. So yeah, I would say everyone gets to take their artistic liberties with it. The original author Homer did. Why can’t Nolan? It’s not like he has them driving Cybertrucks and tweeting about their journey home. Lighten up people! It’s a movie, not a history book. And it looks awesome. Let’s have some fun with it and appreciate what we have. I agree with Films at Home (Jeff Rauseo) and it’s a Christopher Nolan film 🎥

Christopher Nolan’s next film is only 63 days away but the doubters are out in full force- you can hear them from miles away. I’d like to offer an olive branch to those questioning Nolan in this moment: there’s still time for you to reverse course & stop doubting Nolan. I’m truly surprised by how many have suggested that The Odyssey could be a full-blown failure. The “bust potential” conversations around this film are growing, albeit needlessly. Many have criticized Nolan’s casting decisions & creative decisions- without even seeing the film. This is all without mentioning that Nolan just won multiple Oscars- he just gave us an immediate classic with Oppenheimer. Doesn’t that mean he gets the benefit of the doubt? Shouldn’t people hold their reservations until they see Nolan’s vision through? It doesn’t make any sense to me. Let this be a line of demarcation. 63 days out from The Odyssey, if you’re one of those folks doubting/questioning Nolan, this might be one of your last chance to be on the right side of history when Nolan drops another classic.

i’m shocked people still dont understand fadime’s pov. her main problem isn’t the fact that iso knew eleni is esdil’s daughter and he hid this from her, it’s the fact that he lied to her and said he doesn’t know the secret. at first i understood him hiding this from her bcs the marriage was of convenience so it was understandable for him to not say a word ab this but in the moment she confessed her love to him, the moment he proposed to her and decided to build a home together from 0, he should’ve told her exactly this: i know the secret as well but i can’t tell you what it is bcs it’s not my right to say it, i promised to keep this until esme is ready to say it.
