It’s Christopher Nolan Week. The Oscar-winning director returns to theaters this coming Friday. Tell me your favorite Nolan film & tell me your favorite Nolan summer blockbuster. Inception is right next to The Dark Knight as the best summer blockbusters of my life, let alone specific to Nolan. I’m praying The Odyssey is remotely this good.

I really believe Christopher Nolan is going to win the Oscar for Best Director & Best Picture in back-to-back films. For Nolan to give us The Odyssey in the wake of Oppenheimer is beyond words. I just can’t believe it. That said, Nolan will have to overcome Dune 3, which might not be possible. But I put Nolan in the driver’s seat right now.

Christopher Nolan’s next film is only 63 days away but the doubters are out in full force- you can hear them from miles away. I’d like to offer an olive branch to those questioning Nolan in this moment: there’s still time for you to reverse course & stop doubting Nolan. I’m truly surprised by how many have suggested that The Odyssey could be a full-blown failure. The “bust potential” conversations around this film are growing, albeit needlessly. Many have criticized Nolan’s casting decisions & creative decisions- without even seeing the film. This is all without mentioning that Nolan just won multiple Oscars- he just gave us an immediate classic with Oppenheimer. Doesn’t that mean he gets the benefit of the doubt? Shouldn’t people hold their reservations until they see Nolan’s vision through? It doesn’t make any sense to me. Let this be a line of demarcation. 63 days out from The Odyssey, if you’re one of those folks doubting/questioning Nolan, this might be one of your last chance to be on the right side of history when Nolan drops another classic.

Christopher Nolan is the only thing on my mind. I’m seeing The Odyssey in 9 days and it feels an eternity. I can’t wait any longer & every review makes me more impatient. I've read THE ODYSSEY contains some of the best spectacle in Christopher Nolan's career. I really believe Nolan has spent his entire career building up to this. For my money, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES contains some of Nolan's best action, notably the fight between Batman and Bane.

The Dark Knight held the title of Christopher Nolan’s Best Film for nearly two decades. That was until The Odyssey. It’s not an easy decision & The Odyssey doesn’t have a performance nearly as memorable as Heath Ledger here as the Joker. But if you ask me which film I think is better? Christopher Nolan & Denis Villeneuve are on a collision course that leads to the 2027 Oscars. I’ve seen a few minutes of Dune: Part 3 & I nearly collapsed/fainted. I’ve also seen The Odyssey three times & I believe it’s Christopher Nolan’s best film. That’s why I have absolutely zero idea whether Nolan or Denis will dance with Oscar. Whether it be Best Picture or Best Director, the upcoming Oscar race is going to be one for the ages. Let’s roll.

Heath Ledger as Joker has to be on the short list & is probably the most obvious choice I could go with, but I can’t help but think about Ledger in the wake of The Odyssey. Christopher Nolan’s secret weapon is that he’s so damn good at casting. I know he would’ve found a slot for Heath in The Odyssey or Oppenheimer.

Christopher Nolan is back in theaters in just over 2 weeks. The last time we saw him? Oppenheimer. Box Office glory. Oscars. Nolan checked every box with his last film & then some. I’ll be posting my Nolan rankings in the next few days, but for now, I’d love to hear where you guys rank Oppenheimer all-time for Nolan. I think it’s Top 4.

Um, you know, I like to say it was a very hard movie, but hard for all the right reasons. You know, it’s The Odyssey, it should be hard. Um… Jon Stewart: It shows up on screen. Interstellar is one of the best in theater experiences of my life & Christopher Nolan just topped it with The Odyssey. As someone whose life was greatly impacted by Interstellar, I can’t believe I’m sitting here in 2026 in the wake of an even more impressive Nolan blockbuster. Christopher Nolan is truly that dude.

The Last Duel is Matt Damon’s best film of the decade that was not directed by Christopher Nolan. It would be hard for any film to top Oppenheimer or The Odyssey, but Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel has aged stupendously. This deserves a re-release in theaters at some point. Damon is electric in this movie.
