Ontario's schools need more adults. We need more EAs and more educators in our schools to keep students safe and help them learn. Children in Grade 6 were in Kindergarten when the Ford government took office. EQAO scores are on their watch, and this government is failing our kids. That is why Ontario-Liberals are calling on the Ford government to invest $1 billion in new education funding so boards can hire the staff students rely on every day. Students should not have to pay the price for underfunding. It is time to give them the support they deserve.

Today: Government forces the TDSB to cut 40 Vice Principals and schools to share those that remain, with up to 600 teacher roles also gone. Last week: Government-appointed TDSB supervisor forces appeal against a City of Toronto decision that would stop school sites being sold - to address a chronic funding shortfall entirely of Doug Ford’s own making. Toronto is a rapidly growing city, and the TDSB and our kids will need these schools in the future. 📺 City News Toronto

BLM Brandon is correct that he reduced class sizes. With schools like Douglass Academy having a capacity of 912 students but only an enrollment of 35 that really reduces class size. Nevermind the per pupil spend is more than $68,000/yr. As to that "living wage" for teachers, Chicago's are the highest paid in the nation (adjusted for cost of living) but, hey, they're mostly women so they and their salaries are beyond reproach.

Khanna: That’s my real issue with JD Vance. Why are you hurting the education funding that made both your life and mine possible? We need to fund public schools in this country, especially in working-class neighborhoods. You can’t call yourself the party of the working class and then take away funding from schools that serve working-class kids. You can’t call yourself the party of the working class and then say a working-class kid who wants to go to college shouldn’t be able to get loans or scholarships to do that.

These students at a Los Angeles high school just attacked 2 cops while violently protesting against ice! This is not what are kids at in school to learn! Why are we allowing this to indoctrinate our kids against federal agents just doing their jobs of keeping our country safe! DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS TO PUBLIC SCHOOLS!

Yesterday I watched this report on Citizen TV that really disturbed me. While CS Migos & PS Bitok continue to say school fees are affordable, this is what the CBC/CBE transition looks like on the ground. Where are such parents expected to find KSh 50,000 per year when some cannot even afford basic necessities? About 800,000 students have not joined Grade 10, not because they failed, but because their families simply can’t afford it. Under 8-4-4, most Kenyans at least had a fair chance to sit KCSE. Today, many bright students are being locked out early purely because of cost. This is a serious issue, and the people responsible for education need to see it. If you believe in equal opportunity, tag the CS for Education, MPs, and the President so they see what’s happening on the ground. If CBC/CBE is here to stay, then education must be truly free so no child is left behind. Funding is about priorities, not excuses. I’ll keep speaking up for these students. Here is the video.

And the answer is obvious: They understand quite correctly that when Abdul is elected to the Senate, he will work with me and other progressives in taking on the greed of the billionaire class.
