The intense competition between every AI company that's resulting in us getting world changing products every couple of days has led to the greatest time to be a tinkerer in history Instead of divulging in internet tribalism I'd highly encourage you to just be grateful

:D so funny - well tools like opencode, codex have similar design and Claude code joins the party late but this guy hype it like anything - this is not even anything magic or game change just the ui got better why to hype this much

what specifically makes the desktop app better than the cli in your experience, is it the workflows or something else entirely

been on the CLI for months and honestly the desktop app makes everything smoother, especially for switching between projects without losing your train of thought

@AlexFinn legit curious if this makes it easier for non-coders to dive in. always thought the CLI was a bit intimidating for newbies

the desktop app changes are the real story here. having a persistent browser context plus file system access in the same session makes it way more useful than just a smarter CLI.

Too many top-right corner error notifications for no reason, up-down arrows do not bring prompt history, cannot switch to remote git branches, checking usage limits requires too many clicks… but definitely much smoother and almost as usable as the codex app now for code. Cowork tab still has no worthy competition yet though, I will be checking out the new gemini desktop app and see if it may challenge my cowork->DOCX, PPTX->google docs routine though

Big upgrades are nice, but speed depends on how you use it.

Fun fact: GitHub's CEO says over 40% of all code on the platform is now AI-generated. Two years ago that was basically zero. The desktop app move makes sense - the real addressable market isn't devs switching tools, it's everyone who never wrote a line of code.

tbh vibe coding is starting to look like prompt chaining with extra steps, just smoother ui

I’ve grown to enjoy the terminal - but this is much much nicer for everyday use. I spend so much time in regular Claude chat, openclaw, cowork, grok, etc. This feels much cleaner than going into the terminal.

The interesting shift is less CLI vs desktop, more context + approvals. Desktop wins when file diffs, previews, and tool permissions are visible enough that non-devs trust the loop

Claude Code is genuinely getting smoother. The only thing I still think about is verifyng outputs especially when vibe coding and moving fast. Been trying Blackbox’s judge layer for that… ngl it catches more than I expected.

Big claims, but “best way” depends on your workflow; desktop apps trade flexibility for convenience compared to CLI setups.

The desktop app is solid, but I'd push back on "better than CLI" for production workflows. GUI tools are great for prototyping, but when you're shipping real apps you need the repeatability and version control that comes with command-line builds.

I vibe coded a streaming app called Fanflood using Claude AI for free. Purpose is to build a fully functioning MVP at no cost and demonstrate the power of AI tools. The app is hosted at cloudflare pages -

Finn i got a genuine question, ive been using antigravity, its good not the best but good enough + i can add gpt 5.4 to work together with opus 4.6 in the same project. i was thinkin about learning how to use claude code in the cli terminal, but its so hard for me to use that, u think the claude app they released yesterday is better than both of them? especially since opus 4.7 will release soon. ? can the claude code app do everything antigravity and claude code cli can do? mcp addons all taht?
