You've never vibe coded like this before. Replit ⠕ is now your canvas for building & creating. In this video I'm building a graphics shader app. I click Replit's canvas button and see the live app running on infinite editable canvas, generate several design variants in parallel side by...

@Replit what's the underlying tech here, webgl?

jordwalke's profile picture

@Replit My app I'm building uses WebGL, but this works with any app you want to make using web or native apps. You can build a React Native app and an iOS simulator running a real version of iOS will be dropped on the infinite canvas. We haven't even talked about that yet. Easter egg 🤯

@ryanflorence @Replit what?!

jordwalke's profile picture
jordwalke7 months ago

@ryanflorence @Replit Try it. Make a web app, then add a "native mobile app" to the project. Look in the upper righthand corner when you full screen the preview of the mobile app. Select iOS or Android.

@Replit It truly is incredible to build like this

@Replit It really is. I can't go back to any other flow now.

@Replit We have -- since early last year. Been building infinite canvas apps and workflows and custom IDEs for over a year. Their implementation is good; it's not great. It's not as good as it could be -- with some tweaks they haven't thought of it could be incredible.

@Replit @jasonkneen Got any links? We just cooked this up in six weeks. We're definitely going to improve it though. Thanks.

@Replit So Replit recreated Google Stitch. Most of these companies will be gone within 5 years.

@Replit I knew it, the damn canvas is truly game changing as it gives more visual. I put note,docs, screenshot and evrything on figma sometimes

@Replit the infinite canvas as the default IDE surface is such a natural evolution. side-by-side variants without switching tabs is the kind of thing that sounds obvious in hindsight

@Replit How much did it cost to create this?

jordwalke's profile picture

@Replit Probably like 30 dollars. Can you believe it. I can check later for exact amount

@Replit That's impressive, but a bit expensive.

@Replit What I built could be a company that makes money

jordwalke's profile picture
jordwalke6 months ago

@Replit It has community features, privacy settings on projects, "favorites", remixing of shader projects etc.

@Replit I’m days away from being able to copy this, and I only just started. Anybody intelligent is building their own systems instead of getting locked into some proprietary garbage from someone else.

@Replit What was your inspiration for this app and how did you initially approach the implementation?

jordwalke's profile picture
jordwalke7 months ago

@Replit I just wanted to learn about shaders. I know almost nothing about GPU graphics programming.

@Replit I haven’t even looked at a line of code this entire app. Everything you see here is prompted

@Replit Seeing a live app run on an editable canvas while agents spin up parallel design iterations is the ultimate 2026 power move. In March 2026, Velocity is the only Moat. Is your alpha in the "Logic" you write, or in the Canvas-Native Variants you direct?

@Replit what would be the most beneficial way to introduce replit into an existing mature small eng org

jordwalke's profile picture
jordwalke7 months ago

@Replit We have collaboration features now. Get a pro plan. Start a workspace for the team. For Eng: use it to sketch out ideas for production or use it to build tools that help you design or develop features. Like you could use it to build a design system etc
