"I had to leave in a hurry and didn’t have time to say goodbye to my family." Husna left Afghanistan in 2021. Today, she is studying international studies at the University of Kentucky and working at the Lex Human Rights Commission. Her goal is to advocate for others through a career in human rights. This is one of three stories featured in our new documentary on Afghan students rebuilding their lives through higher education, with support from the Qatar Scholarship for Afghans Project. Despite this small [percentage], for decades now, campaigns are ran to make people believe that man-made CO2 is the cause of climate change." The team l work with Sema Ukweli is facing the closure of our physical office and the vital work we do. We are a justice and human rights media organization that seeks to tell human interest stories. As an independent media platform, we expose injustices and human rights violations faced by ordinary Kenyans, with the aim of getting justice for the victims. We work closely with various organizations and authorities to achieve this aim. We also run a rapid response desk that responds to urgent calls and bails out innocent people arrested by the police. We work closely with young people and train them in citizen journalism, human rights, and how to organize in their communities to fight against injustices.
