Hey, not a bad solution, saves quite a lot of time in the long run. Does it cause any strange scaling problems during movement? Or is this method also helping to counteract that?

It's like doing Alt + S in edit mode, which scales your selection via normals direction. There is some strangeness so I counteract it using a blur node and it seems to work pretty well!
