Cloud agents work while you eat, sleep, and take the subway. "Every morning I'll spin up a session on the way to work." Melius is a small and nimble startup, and Devin gives them the engineering capacity of a 100-person team. That's why the fastest moving startups use Devin.

actually this is the only product on the market for serious work. not only because Mercedes, Citi, Goldman and others are using it but also companies like Melius. If you are serious about what you want to build, you want to be ahead of the game and not feeling fomo cause of the new agentic technology changes, you have to stick with Cognition and Devin period and rest is just noise. applicable both for solo builders and bigger teams who need a capable and scalable team mate why will tear down any task, test, record it, run locally or in the cloud on the go, work on your Linar tasks, drop you slack updates etc. I personally was hesitant to use cloud agents but devin convinced me in 2 runs, this is the future.

Devin should fix Devin Desktop the amount of bugs on this thing is crazy, UI can be simplified : board, list , Agent editor is a really disturbing kind of flow. Minimalist would be better stability more than 1000 features that people don't use. Building is what matters most!

Love the idea of starting Devin sessions on the go, but the mobile UX isn’t quite there yet. The web/PWA experience is still cumbersome on a phone. Would love to see a proper native app built around this exact use case.

the commute is the new office. building on the subway is wild but having the agent finish the PR while i grab coffee is a game changer

Async is becoming the default way to build. Humans set direction, agents keep shipping.

Capacity is the easy half. Review throughput is the hard one: four PRs waiting at 9am only helps if someone can verify four PRs by lunch. What did Melius change about how they review, not just how much they ship?

现象背后有更深的逻辑。高手和普通人的区别,就在于愿不愿意多问几个为什么。大多数人停在第一个答案,真正的高手会一直追问到根因。

what counts as “start with Devin” here — first draft, or PRs it carries through review? the commute-session detail makes that distinction pretty important.

Cloud agents are changing how small teams scale. The real advantage is continuous execution that expands engineering capacity without expanding headcount.

A small team getting the output of a much larger engineering org is where these tools start to change company formation.

when that subway session hits a decision point and you're underground, does it wait or just make the call? that's the part i can't figure out with cloud agents

The “spin up a session on the way to work” workflow is exactly how AI agents should feel. Curious what % of their PRs now start with Devin.

i build solo with agents, and the 100-person-team claim loses me. the small team still has to specify and review what devin ships

Since I joined Cognition I've been obsessed with learning how our eng team uses Devin themselves If we are building the best coding agent + we have the most cracked engineers + we've been fully AI-pilled from day one... it stands to reason that there is a lot to learn by just watching our technical staff work And yes there are a lot of tips & tricks. I recorded a video talking about my favorite... Agent Fan Out - asking your agent to break down the problem, spin up 10 more agents in parallel, and combine their results This is something I've seen everyone do - from our model research team spinning up 100 Devins to examine eval logs - or our product team using 5 child Devins to try out 5 different alternative implementations of the same thing If engineering is cheap and easy, why not build the product 10 times and choose the best one? Think of it in a master/slave context: Master Devin -> 10 Slave Devins -> Master Devin pulls their results There are two reasons this is useful 1. Agents are smartest when their context is small and their task is small & precise. Context windows are finite and too much becomes distracting 2. Agents are good at helping you break a large problem into independent & parallelizable chunks of work Every Devin is its own VM/computer so this also is just a great way to move faster. I've done a migration from React Native to Swift by having Devin break it up into 6 pieces then spin up new Devins to work in parallel In the video I build a greenfield project and try my best to show off this agent fan out concept. I also threw in a few other tricks that I've seen my coworkers do: - Let Devin write its own prompts (especially for creating child Devins). It's way better than us humans - Do tons of things at once. You should be absolutely frying your attention span. Your job should just be babysitting 38 different Devins - Don't be a blocker. Before letting the agent work I make sure to tell it to ask me any questions that would fill in ambiguities. Give your agent all the information it needs (and then some more) so that it can just cook without stopping to ask you questions every few minutes - Let Devin test itself. Integration sanity tests are pretty much solved Hope this is useful!!
