An incredible strength in what it does to protect the freedoms and rights of its people. Oh, there's great strength in that. And it is very fragile. It is only as strong as our willingness to fight for it. And so that's the moment we're in. And I say do not despair because in a democracy, as long as we can keep it, in our democracy the people, every individual has the power to make a decision about what this will be. And so let's not feel powerless. Because then we have been defeated. And that's not our character as the American people. We are not one to be defeated. We rise to a moment and we stand on broad shoulders of people who have fought this fight before for our country. And in many ways let us look at the challenge then that we are being presented and not be overwhelmed by it. The baton is now in our hands, to fight for, not against, but for this country we love.

Sanders: You know why Trump has a nucleus of support? People say, “I go out and I vote every two years. You tell me to vote every four years. So what? I’m going nowhere. Democracy is not working. You know what I need? I need a strong guy. I don’t give a damn about the Constitution, the rule of law. Give me some guy who’s going to crack some heads.” It’s not just in this country. So maybe if you're talking to some milquetoast liberal who lives in northeast D.C. or northwest D.C. in a $2 million house, then maybe they're saying, oh, it's great. But lemme tell you something. There are a lot of people who live in the poor areas who do not see it the way that Lulu [Garcia-Navarro] just described. And again, I'm not saying, Erin, that this is a long term fix.
