CNN's Shermichael Singleton Singleton on sending in federal resources to fight crime: "Look, I would do it wherever the crime is concentrated. It's objectively true that there are pockets of the city of Chicago that do have high concentrations of crime. We can't deny that. Look, is this a... long-term strategy? Absolutely not. But it is a temporary fix. The President, using the bully pulpit to put a spotlight on crime in Chicago, I think makes sense. We're discussing it. The mayor of D.C. just signed an act today allowing local police to work indefinitely with federal law enforcement, because what they have seen is a decrease to a number of zero in terms of murders in the city of D.C. Why would that not be a good thing? In Labor Day just passed, for example, 58 people were shot in Chicago, eight of those people killed. The youngest, who is now in critical critical condition, is a teenager. So, Erin, to me, you may not necessarily like what the President is doing, but how in the world could any sane person not agree that trying to make safer communities for people who live in some of those higher, concentrated areas of crime, is not something that should be a bipartisan effort?"show more

We’re now halfway through September, and Mayor Johnson continues to object to putting criminals in prison… In Washington, DC, President Trump’s push to stop crime has, in fact, reduced crime. AOC: President Trump—I want to be clear—not only threatened genocide, he is continuing to threaten genocide against the Iranian people. That is his main point of “leverage” in this situation. It is a war crime. It is abhorrent, and it is also illegal. Our presence right now is a crime. I personally believe it’s impeachable. But putting all of that aside, it’s a crime. No president is authorized by the Constitution of the United States to go to war without the authorization of Congress. Period. And acting on any of these threats would also be a crime.

Has president Trump signed a waiver for Elon Musk? Leavitt: I have not seen the law you are referring to… As the president said, if he feels like Elon is engaging in something that's a conflict of interest, he'll tell Elon not to do that.
