High school teacher and soccer coach gets turned in by her friend for doing the unthinkable with a student. Molly Mersereau, a vocational teacher and coach at Gulf Breeze High School in Santa Rosa County, Florida, was arrested following an investigation into an inappropriate s*xual relationship with an underage female student. The warning signs had surfaced months earlier. School administration investigated Mersereau after she was seen in her personal vehicle with the student. Both denied an inappropriate relationship, and the district issued Mersereau a formal performance correction notice barring her from driving students, messaging them outside approved school channels, or allowing them to hang out unsupervised. The misconduct did not stop—it escalated. A close personal friend of Mersereau contacted law enforcement and reported that the coach had privately admitted to having a sexual relationship with the student. The case was turned over to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office, where detectives quickly uncovered an elaborate cover-up operation: Secret Communications: Investigators discovered Discord messages revealing Mersereau had supplied the student with a secret burner phone, providing specific instructions on how to conceal the device in her clothing and bedroom. Concealed Evidence: A search of the teen’s bedroom uncovered a hidden iPad and handwritten love notes matching Mersereau’s handwriting. Several of the notes had been hollowed out and hidden inside a hardcover copy of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." The Arrest: Deputies served an arrest warrant at Mersereau’s apartment, placing her in custody on body camera. Mersereau faces multiple serious felony charges, including: Offenses Against Students by Authority Figures Criminal Solicitation (2nd-degree felony) Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device to Facilitate a Felony The Santa Rosa County School Board unanimously voted to terminate her teaching contract. Mersereau has pleaded not guilty to all counts and remains out on bond as her case works its way through pre-trial proceedings in Florida's 1st Judicial Circuit Court.
