Rogin: It looks very likely that we're about to restart bombing of Iran. And there are a lot of reports out there that this is about to happen. And what that means is that all of the problems, not just with the US economy, with the economy of every country in the world, are about to get worse. And it means that the Iran war is going to go much longer than otherwise anticipated. And that is a disaster not just for Americans, but for all people. Andy Green talks about the work Freddy Peralta has put in between his starts and how Peralta has dealt with adversity this season: "I think the first thing for him - this is basically important for any competitor to know - this is how great you actually are. When short-term evidence points in the other direction, you have to get back to the mindset of expecting to win and expecting to dominate. The first thing is flipping that feeling that you have after tough outings to conviction. That's work. We don't wake up in the morning after a tough outing and feel great about ourselves. There's not a player in the world that does. The work done to get back to a mind that's positive instead of negative, neutral or stressed, that's part of it. I've been impressed with the way he's gone about this last week. I've been impressed with the way he's carried himself around the clubhouse. Been impressed in our conversations we've had with one another. It's get on the attack and believe you're about to go dominate. Belief precedes performance. It always does. The best players in the world know they're great. We're getting one inducted into the Hall of Fame today that was great, but the belief he had came from the work he did and then also the conviction he took to the box with him as a hitter. Freddy's going to do the same thing today. He's going to face a very good lineup and if you look back historically, he's had a lot of success against a lot of these guys. He's pitched well against some of the best hitters in the world. Why? Because he's one of the best pitchers in the world. He's got to carry himself like that. I don't know that the world loves to hear that because we like to beat up people who are beat up rather than hold people up that are beat up. "Every team wants to win a championship, but not every team wants to do the things required for a championship. And here's the thing: it's easy to be an average team. It doesn't require a lot. It's less adversity to be average in the world. The consequences of being average aren't easy. We end up wearing them. There's strain and struggle that comes with that too. The standard is just lower to be an average team. To be a championship team, to be champion, to be a championship team member here . . . I'm not gonna lie to you . . . I'm going to tell you the truth. It is harder. It is. The question is: Is it worth it? Some people say, "Oh it's not harder work." Yes it is. It's harder work. You can pursue comfort or you can pursue excellence. If we pursue comfort, we gotta give up some excellence. But if we pursue excellence, then we're just going to face more adversity. Everyone who's ever accomplished something excellence has had to overcome it. We are here today for a reason. Two reasons actually. Reason #1 is let's make sure that we identify and realize the opportunities that are in front of us. Reason #2 is let's make sure that we are preparing for the adversity that those opportunities require. And just understand: every single time you lever up your opportunities and you identify, "Oh there's something more I can do, more I can achieve. I can get better. I can earn more. I can do this." It's going to be matched with the adversity that comes with it. "Every team wants to win a championship, but not every team wants to do the things required for a championship. And here's the thing: it's easy to be an average team. It doesn't require a lot. It looks like it’s going to be a Trump deal with Xi but you need this YiMing guy to get on board, and then find a way to do a transition. You have to keep the algorithm working for a while because that's what makes TikTok. This is a chance for Trump and Xi to say we're gonna cooperate on a deal finally. We're not gonna go to war on each other. Let's try for the first time to do a cooperation on tech. You gotta abide by our laws in the United States, but let's make a deal. This could be the first deal and if McCourt O'Leary can be part of it, we love economic unions with China, absolutely!
