CODEX SKILL THAT STOPS WASTING YOUR CODEX USAGE! I made a Codex skill that gives every task a clear budget before it starts. Choose Saver, Balanced, Full Power, or define your own limits. It reduces: → unnecessary repository scans → repeated commands and huge logs → speculative refactors → redundant web research → unnecessary subagents → endless retry loops It still runs the essential checks needed for a trustworthy result. If the budget isn’t enough, it creates a Markdown checkpoint you can open in Codex and resume later. It doesn’t increase your account limits. It helps you use them better. Install: npx --yes codex-budget-mode@latest 100% open source. Repo in bio.

OpenAI is working on a new experimental feature for Codex called Scratchpad. Users will be able to start multiple Codex chats from a TODO list view, which will be executed in parallel. It will become very instrumental in the upcoming Codex Superapp, where you will be able to trigger a broader range of tasks to achieve your goals. * Not available yet 👀

I recreated my Hoodie Cryptopunk as my Pet companion in Codex. It tells me when tasks are done, has different animations like jumping, waving, running, its v fun. Thinking about building an open library for every punk holder to claim their own 1/1 Punk Pet, should I do this?

One of the top pieces of feedback we get about OpenAI Codex: “make it faster”. We addressed it in a big way with our ultra fast Codex-Spark model (research preview for Pro). Available in the latest Codex app, CLI, and IDE extension. Here’s Spark vs 5.3-Codex-Low side-by-side (Credit Romain Huet for the initial idea).

Codex is now available in the ChatGPT iOS app! Start new tasks, view diffs, ask for changes, and even push PRs—all on the go. And you can keep tabs on Codex with live activities on your lock screen, or pick things up again when you're back at your computer. 🏃🤳

You can now orchestrate Fable 5, Sol, and any model inside Codex with one plugin. It's called Codex-Orchestration. Assign Fable 5 as the advisor, Sol as the executor, or any model to any role. Then define the order they work in. Codex handles the routing. I ran Fable 5 High as planner with GPT-5.6 Sol Extra High as executor on a set of issues Opus and GPT-5.5 always struggled with. Done in 30 minutes. 40% fewer limit hits. 2x faster implementation. Install it by pasting this into Codex: "Install Codex Orchestration: codex plugin marketplace add Cjbuilds/Codex-Orchestration codex plugin add codex-orchestration@codex-orchestration Verify the installation, then tell me to start a new task." Then assign your models: @ codex-orchestration advisor: Claude Fable 5 High, Executor: GPT-5.6 Sol High Open source. Tweak the routing however you want.

ChatGPT Web is now inside Codex 😲 this open-source project has already crossed 2.7k stars instead of using a separate workflow, it lets you use ChatGPT Web models directly from Codex's model picker what you get: - GPT-5.6 Pro for eligible accounts - free Luna access - ChatGPT Web quota - Codex tools + context - images, streaming and reasoning - open-source + MIT licensed getting started: 1. go to 2. install the launcher 3. sign in with your ChatGPT account 4. run the browser checks 5. install the models 6. restart Codex and select ChatGPT Web the interesting part? you can keep using Codex normally while routing the selected model through ChatGPT Web no separate API key for the ChatGPT model 2.7k+ stars and still actively updated worth checking if you already use Codex and want to experiment with ChatGPT Web models

Codex halts all work once you hit your limit, causing you to lose valuable work. So I built Sundown, a plugin that monitors your Codex usage limits. When you're running low, your agent is told to wrap things up so you can pick up the work in a new session. Never lose a PR in progress.

Codex can run Qwen-3.8-max now as well!! Alibaba most capable model, dropped today and it's already in my codex picker. It's a token plan subscription, not metered api billing. You take the key from your Qwen plan, drop it into Codex Router, and it spends down the plan instead of your card. There's a catch though. Qwen's official setup switches your whole codex over to them, so your ChatGPT models stop showing up at all. That's exactly what Codex Router is for. It adds models to the list instead of replacing them, so sol, Grok, kimi, Deepseek and now Qwen 3.8 max all sit in the same picker and it can grab whichever one suits the job. Router's open source, setup's in the video 👇

I love this, so I made a minimalist version for myself. When an agent is running in Codex, Pac-Man is eating 👾 and becomes all big and green 🤢 when the agent is done, so I know it's time to prompt again. On hover, the notch expands to show the list of running and completed threads. Edward Luo came up with a banger, and I think the Codex team should consider adding this natively because it's really nice 🤗

Harness Terminal is a free app. Claude Code on MacBook. Codex at the office. Pi at home. Hermes in the cloud. All in one window. Running agents across machines? Put your setup in one place.

CODEX SKILL FOR FRONTENDS THAT DON’T LOOK AI-GENERATED Meng To posted a killer breakdown on avoiding AI slop in landing pages. I turned it into a Codex skill. Point Codex at your landing page and it audits: -> typography + letter spacing -> fake-looking images -> generic AI sections -> weak visual hierarchy -> mobile polish -> missing human details Install: `npx --yes mengtofrontend@latest` 100% open source. Link in bio.

MOSS, the open source litter-picking robot, is taking shape 🤖 First prototype, first reality checks. Some components ended up elsewhere than planned in CAD, and the Jetson is now running on battery power. Plenty to improve in the next revision. That’s what prototypes are for.

CODEX SKILL THAT FINDS WASTED STORAGE ON YOUR MAC! I made a Codex skill that audits your Mac and reports where disk space can be cleaned up safely. Scan your Mac while Codex checks caches, logs, old installers, build artifacts, node_modules, Xcode data, Docker leftovers, and other files that may be wasting storage. -> macOS storage audit -> cache, logs, downloads, build artifact detection -> low/medium/protected risk levels -> exact paths + space estimates -> read-only report by default -> asks before deleting anything -> one-command install Install: npx --yes codex-mac-storage-cleanup 100% open source.
