A few months ago, Afghan women came forward to share testimony for the People’s Tribunal for Women of Afghanistan. Their courage helped produce today’s judgment, which finds the Taliban responsible for gender persecution and operating an apartheid-like system of control over girls and women. An Afghan women’s movement expressed support for the warning from the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, and Australia to hold the Taliban accountable in the Hague Court for systematic discrimination against women. These women urge other countries and the United Nations to recognise the gender apartheid imposed in Afghanistan and hold the Taliban accountable for their anti-humanitarian actions against women.

It is equally concerning that #India 🇮🇳 , the world’s largest democracy, few weeks ago, invited the Taliban regime’s foreign minister despite its record of oppressing women and gender apartheid and legitimate the regime oppression against the women of Afghanistan.
