Austin-based robotics startup Apptronik has unveiled Apollo 2, the latest version of its humanoid robot. Apollo 2 comes in both bipedal and wheeled versions and performs real-world tasks while collecting training data. Apptronik is using this data with Google DeepMind to train Gemini Robotics AI models, making Apollo smarter and more capable.

DEWALT and August Robotics have commercially launched DALE, a fleet-capable autonomous drilling robot designed specifically for data-centre construction. In a year-long pilot, it drilled more than 230,000 holes with 99.97% accuracy, worked at up to 10× the speed of traditional methods, and cut a combined 190 weeks from project schedules across 26 construction phases. The robot has two magnetic wheels driven by geared motors and an elastic tail to improve stability. In the front part of the robot, there is a miniature wireless camera. The robot is remotely teleoperated & the video signal from the camera is displayed to the operator on a portable screen. Let's wait and perhaps the robot will become more autonomous over time. So cool! Can you even tell this is a robot horse? 🤖🐎 DEEP Robotics has built a robot horse, seemingly a special Year of the Horse limited edition based on their M20 Pro. The bionic details on this machine are incredible, especially those lifelike hooves. It looks like a living creature rather than just another quadruped robot. 🏆 1st place, Open Source Lenslist AR as an interface for robot navigation. Give move-to commands using hands or voice and the robot moves there autonomously. Works in a variety of environments and conditions. Stock firmware on the Unitree dog. Dimensional powers the entire navigation stack with dynamic pathing and LiDAR streaming. UI and interactions on SPECS AR Glasses. I’m already working on v2.0 with VPS support (MultiSet AI) to reduce drift on longer distances (>5m) and cleaner DimOS integration. Gotta say, making this is a bit of a rollercoaster as it’s genuinely hard but also I just want it to exist and seeing it work is the most cool and rewarding thing ever. Repo:

Shenzhen has an insanely dense robotics ecosystem. - It transformed from a small fishing village of around 30,000 people in the early 1980s into today’s global hardware epicenter with over 18 million residents. - The city is home to more than 1,200 robotics companies and tens of thousands of robotics-related suppliers and enterprises. - Thanks to this extreme proximity of engineers, factories, suppliers, and researchers (especially along Liuxian Avenue in Nanshan’s "Robot Valley"), hardware prototyping and iteration cycles can happen in days instead of months.
