The move completes a pattern across all three pending GHYP-style filings, with Bitwise (BHYP) and 21Shares (THYP) having made the same switch in their own amendments earlier this month. Coinbase has been the default custodian for nearly every US spot crypto ETF approved to date, including the $BTC and $ETH lineups. Its absence from all three Hyperliquid ETF filings stands out, particularly given Hyperliquid's direct competitive overlap with Coinbase Derivatives in the perpetual futures market. Anchorage Digital (Anchorage Digital ⚓️), the only federally chartered crypto bank in the US, emerges as the institutional custody winner for the HYPE ETF race.
