Come and See (1985) is pure war horror. Unforgettable.

Had this guy’s face etched into my brain for years

Theres an even worse one you know. Absolute, unadulterated war horror.

Absolutely agree. Watched it once six years ago and still get chills thinking about Flyora's face in the final act. It's not just a war film, it's a descent into psychological hell. Klimov basically sacrificed his entire career to make it (he never directed again). Strong recommend with a massive content warning.

This move literally sucks. Fell asleep and grotesquely over rated

Come and See (1985) is less a film and more a cinematic gut punch. Harrowing, unflinching, and impossible to forget.

The true horror of the eastern front is not taught enough, the scale of the annihilation is impossible to comprehend.

males be like: this thing we start and we fight and we perpetuate and play victim about is pure horror

Everyone should watch it at least once. Once seen, not forgotten. The scene when he goes home, before crossing the marsh. The tension there and he doesn’t see it but the girl does as they flee…

Saw this movie for the first time a few months ago. The sound engineering was on point. Made for such an anxious viewing experience

Great film, showing the truth about german warcrimes. Thats, how average german ,,pacification'' of polish, belarussian or russian village looked...

Honestly? I didn't think it was a very good movie. Too chaotic and incoherent.

the lead actor now supports nazis and genocide. Pathetic

Every day in Ukraine. Even worse. By russians

It looks bloody horrific. An amazing 😮

Mosfilm on YouTube if you want more WW2 bangers from a Russian perspective.

The Dirlewanger Brigade was made up of various criminals, including convicted homosexuals and paedophiles, alongside Ukrainian and Russian volunteers, Turkestanis, Volga Tartars, Azerbaijanis, Kyrgyz, Uzbeks, and Tajiks. Nothing positive can result from that mixture.

Flyora went through some transformation in that film, he was hypnotised in order to not suffer trauma from certain scenes. Glasha, the crazy girl was my personal favourite. This movie is absolute masterclass in cinematography, but it’s a hard watch. The one wants to avert one’s gaze…

They TORTURED that poor kid. Days without eating, no contact with his family, getting stuck in bogs and swamps for HOURS at a time, getting shot at with live ammunition. If it looks like he's traumatized...he is. It took years of therapy to get over this for him.

Oldboy, Grave of the fireflies, Requiem for a dream

was the kid ok in real life? he clearly didn't look well.

Art makes absolutely no difference. People stay who they are regardless of their exposure to it. Millions of Russian people saw this film and then they went and did the same in Ukraine as Germans did back then.

👍👍

The lead actor (sorry, dont know his name) gives like a top 5 acting performance of all time. Unreal.

One of the Best movies of all time. Haunting yet inspiring all the same.

This dude now encourages rus soilders to fight against Ukraine

@KnucklesCoxin The best war movie ever.

Bolschewistische Propaganda

lame communist propaganda

One of the best endings of all time

my mother told me that "dancing in the dark" is the movie that broke her. My primal instincts see monkey dead next to berries, monkey shouldn't eat berries

I a great story but not a great movie and people have some hard time to admit this.
