Android vs. iOS app quality difference [Part 8] This one is about two highly-requested media apps: Spotify and Netflix. Netflix is miles better on iOS, but Spotify is about the same in my opinion because each version has one extra feature that's absent on the other. Netflix: - Netflix on iOS has a very modern design. Cool animations while logging in, and 3D parallax effect on the main title shown on the homepage. Nothing like this on the Android version. - You can use gestures to navigate the titles as shown in the video, and it's coupled with cool animations. Absent on the Android app. Spotify: - On the iOS app, you can use swipe up/down gestures to navigate between the mini-player and main music player UI. Can't do that on Android. - However, on the Android app, you can like a song directly from the notification panel - which is very useful. You can add a song you like to your Liked playlist directly without having to open the app. I believe this is on Apple alone, since they don't allow adding shortcuts like that to media player. Which app would you like me to do next? Let me know below!

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is three movies stacked on top of each other, and most people only notice one. There's the real world, where Sharon Tate and Steve McQueen actually existed. There's Tarantino's "realer than real," where his made-up characters shake hands with real people. Darts are small, stitched down folds that give a garment shape. They are typically used on areas that need to hug the curves of a body, such as the waist of a jacket or above the seat on a pair of trousers. Unfortunately, darts can also distort a pattern. This is especially obvious on chalkstripes and pinstripes, since the pattern should match across the body and pockets. Here are four ways tailors have dealt with this issue: — Steed: Place the dart between the stripes and carefully shape it so that the lines move out where they need, matching the pockets. (IG steedtailors) — Leonard Logsdail: Place the dart along the stripe. This means one of the stripes suddenly disappears around the chest, but the pattern still matches across the pockets. IMO, this is fine on fine stripes, but can be jarring on very bold stripes. Looks good here though. (IG leonardlogsdail) — Sartoria Raffaniello: Place the dart between two of the stripes, so you push them together. This will make two of the stripes converge like an arrowhead point. (IG sartoria_raffaniello) — Jerry Xu: Place the dart between two stripes, but make them converge into a single stripe, allowing you to match the pattern across the pockets. ALWAYS HAS BEEN Chapter 1: Fenestra Animae Website: X Article: Whitepaper video (~10 min) (see below) This is by far my most ambitious project yet and so I've provided a few ways to dig into the many deep layers of the artwork. First is the website which has the full whitepaper and a blueprint of the entire system. It also has a fun design, so I'd definitely check it out even just for that. Second, I've included the full whitepaper as an X article, so that it is easy to access and read. Third, I've created a video (~10 min) that narrates the entire text of the whitepaper with video illustrations of the concepts within the artwork (see below). There is a lot in there and those that take the time to understand it all will benefit greatly when the time comes. Hopefully one of these ways of reading the whitepaper will provide an easy way to dive in. I'll be following up with more posts and discussions to dig into the nuanced aspects of the work. In addition, a new version of The Terminal (FKA Latent Space Terminal) has also launched today. Something strange happened in the mid-noughties... I made three different music videos for Suddenly I See ⚡️ 20 years ago today I first released this song, so I thought it'd be a good opportunity to tell a story... The story starts in the summer of 2005, when our protagonist (moi!) has just agreed that ‘Suddenly I See’ would be the 3rd single from Eye To The Telescope. We set to work on the music video: a performance battle between light KT and dark KT! This version was perhaps the closest to how people were discovering me - through my live television performances and gigs. We shot this version where I am battling another version of myself, with a cool result. This was the video fans in the UK got, and the song wove some magic out on the radio waves. NEXT…my US label decided we needed to make a new video, especially for the US fans. This was a super-cool opportunity which I jumped at, as it meant creatively a whole new take on the song, and I got to work with a Director whose work I loved, Patrick Daughters. I particularly loved his ‘Gold Lion’ video for Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs ✨ We flew to Bucharest, Hungary, to shoot this video, which is circus-themed. This video is definitely one of the most-out there ones I ever shot…parachuting dogs, me as a show girl, me on a trapeze?! I absolutely loved making this video, and also really loved the result, so imagine my surprise when the label told me they didn't want to release it! They felt the old crumbling apartment building shots were just too bleak. It was around the time when the song was used in the movie ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and had taken on a shiny new meaning. So…we made a THIRD video, which replaced the circus video in the USA. This new, animated version sees me as a 50 foot woman journeying through an animated pop-up world. It's really colourful and reflects that new life the song was taking on. It was a very fun video to make. If you had to ask me to pick my favourite...I’d have to go with parachuting Jack Russells, Top Hat and moustache!!

I don’t know how many of you have experienced “Where Winds Meet” but I’d like to inform you that this is by far the most insane FREE game I have ever played. The amount of content this thing has is not even funny. I’ve just watched the CN version of the game where a guild broke one of their members free from jail.. WHICH INVOLVED DOING STEALTH, and protecting him from guards and other players trying to down the prisoner.. like WTF?! 😳 No way this game did that.. “me and my brother requested this a long time ago to the devs, as sort of role-play feature for this game” and they’ve fucking added it. I’m devoting my time to support this game indefinitely. Not to mention how insanely sick Arena battles are in your own region. Peep the video below. Also there’s a raid. Boss which mounts a donkey, who turns us into Donkeys 😂😭 shit is so funny, than we have to run and hide with other npc donkey herd whilst this boss tries to cook you.. ☹️ 🤣🤣 shit is insane man. Thrust on the Commodore 64 (Firebird, 1986) is still one of those games that punish you beautifully. I love it! At first glance, you realize this is a game of physics, inertia-based physics, and fuel management. I wish I did better at school LOL! Luckily, it's also a game of common sense too, phew! Towing the precious Klystron pod while desperately trying not to smash into cavern walls all the while avoiding turret gunfire, this was the ultimate stress back in the day, and we loved it. And Rob Hubbard's title music? As always, Rob delivers; that's why he's my favorite Commodore 64 SID musician. If we get AGI before 2030 but can only produce ~200 GW a year of chips on advanced process nodes, can we ease the bottleneck by going back to older nodes? Some of the most singularity-pilled investors think so. Most of the FLOPS improvement between chip generations has come from numerics - not transistor density. But you could just design a new version of a 7nm chip like the A100 to have FP4. Holding numerics and die area constant, a B200 (2025 chip on 4nm) would only have ~3.5x more FLOPS than an A100 (2020 chip on 7nm). That seems like a manageable haircut - does it mean we can blow past the 200 GW ceiling? Dylan Patel explains why this is not an apples-to-apples comparison. If you run real-world performance analysis on DeepSeek V3 or Kimi K2.5, the performance gap between Hopper and Blackwell isn't 3x. It's ~20x. Why? Because inference is already memory-bandwidth-bound, and older chips have far fewer FLOPS per die, requiring even more communication between chips. Remember the bandwidth hierarchy: on-chip SRAM runs at tens of TB/s, HBM at single-digit TB/s, NVLink within a 72-GPU domain at high hundreds of GB/s, and between racks at low hundreds of GB/s. Each boundary is roughly a 10x drop. With less compute per chip, you need more chips to run the same model - which means more communication across those slower pipes that are already bottlenecking you.

Andrzej Zulawski on why 'The Devil" (1972) was an important movie for him & the advice Andrzej Wajda gave him: "'The Third Part of the Night' (1971) was extremely important being the first film of course, but also for the way it is written. The flashbacks, the cuts or whatever, and the essence of the story is essentially the story of my father. Starting with that I really wanted to say Hello, I know, we know…we remember…je me souviens…like in Quebec. Stylistically it was not for me any kind of breakthrough into a different way of filmmaking, and 'The Devil' (1972) was. Wajda told me once, maybe one of the two things he said which I keep with me today, he said: "Look…be careful because the first day of the shooting of your new film, independently of the time which has passed between the two, will be the last day of the film which you just did before.” It’s so right, and so when we started 'The Devil', first day I remember, we started with this travelling shot, this elegant photography because 'Third Part of the Night' is elegant visually, anyway for me; then I said “Oh God, something is radically wrong…forget the rails, take the camera in hand and let’s do the film like a documentary about a bloody dream in which the history of Poland collapsed, etc. etc.” We did the film almost entirely with hand-held camera so it was a radical departure stylistically from the first film.
