Compassionate common sense says those who are able to work, should work. Allowing generations of able-bodied Americans to remain on welfare is not compassionate to them, nor is it fair to the American taxpayer.

The safety net should empower, not enable. But let’s be real: Washington’s welfare bureaucracy is a bloated mess. Take SNAP—$127B spent in 2023, yet work requirements for able-bodied adults are routinely waived, trapping people in dependency instead of connecting them to jobs. The real issue? Agencies prioritize expanding their budgets over delivering real pathways to self-sufficiency. Meanwhile, the Fair Tax Act (H.R. 25) shows how to simplify systems by abolishing IRS overreach and letting workers keep their paychecks. Compassion means demanding efficiency from bureaucrats, not just compliance from taxpayers.

In addition, daycare needs to be in this calculation. Working a full time job just to hand it over to a daycare provider doesn’t make sense. IMHO

Of course. But can we be compassionate and acknowledge they may not have the skills to compete with the entire world for jobs in their own country? Let’s financially incentivize corporations to only hire Americans.

Help us low income Seniors we need great low income Senior Housing in great locations now. We need portability and month to month leases so we are not locked into slumlord housing with abusive managers Concordia House. You say nothing about what you’re going to do to help us. Many of us worked hard due to Congress rigging the Social Security formula we live way below poverty. We deserve to live out the end of our lives with dignity and respect. You gave illegal aliens better housing and freedom to move than the American Senior Citizen.
