I have 3 54000 series oscilloscopes. HP54602 has Tetris, HP54645 has Bugs and HP54622 has Asteroids. Amazing stuff!

We used to spend a lot of time in our lab playing that game when we probably should have been working... 90,003 is my high score!

Yes it absolutely is! HP Scopes from the late 90s have a surprising amount of Easter eggs. There is even a hidden "Hardware Hacking" menu that really opens up a floodgate of interesting features. Even though the scope is only specced to 100MHz, it can go as high as 400MHz!

Well that was unexpected .. I had no idea engineers went to the trouble of putting this stuff into test gear!

Someone missed a trick by not implementing Asteroids or Battlezone on this vector display 😭 Cheaper than a good console too!
