Being offended doesn't put anyone above the law. Here's what happened in this road rage incident. A traffic dispute turned into a major legal situation leading to the arrest of Reem M. Al Dhahiry. Al Dhahiry claimed she was targeted in an Islamophobic road rage incident by another driver. She loudly explains her side of the story to a police officer, claiming that a "white guy" tried to a$sault her on the road by repeatedly tailgating and brake-checking her because she is Muslim. The officer attempts to de-escalate the situation and gather details. He asks her where the incident started, how she maneuvered away, and if she followed the man onto any property. Al Dhahiry insisted that she was the victim and continued to demand for a police report and for the other party to be arrested without giving more details or her ID. After consulting with other officers who were speaking to the driver of the blue Prius, the officer informs the woman that she is being placed under arrest for assault, as the other driver wishes to press charges. The woman denied that she a$saulted anyone and accused the police officers of protecting the other driver because he is white. She requests a female officer, citing her religious beliefs, and a female deputy eventually takes over the search before she is placed into the patrol car. The victim chose to press charges. Al Dhahiry was arrested for Aggravated Assault in a Public Place, her car was towed, and she was booked into jail.

A woman has claimed that she was harassed while waiting for a cab on a roadside in Bengaluru, in an incident that has once again sparked concerns over women's safety in public spaces. According to the woman, a man, identified by the police as Vijay Ragav, riding a two-wheeler approached her and allegedly abused her using obscene language while she was waiting for her cab in Ramamurthy Nagar. When she began recording on her mobile phone, the 42-year-old fruit seller accused fled the spot. The woman later shared the video on Instagram, identifying the vehicle's registration number and urging authorities to take action against the accused. "As a woman, I should be able to wait for my cab without being treated like an object or being propositioned for money. No one should have to experience this kind of harassment in a public place," she wrote. Describing the encounter, she said the man's words were "intimidating, disrespectful, and made me fear for my safety." "I am sharing this incident to raise awareness and request immediate action from the concerned authorities. Such behaviour cannot be normalised or ignored," she said, urging law enforcement to identify the accused and ensure accountability. The woman also appealed to bystanders not to remain silent in the face of harassment. "Every person deserves to feel safe in public spaces without being subjected to sexual harassment. Please speak up if you witness incidents like these. Silence only emboldens offenders. Public spaces must be safe and respectful for everyone," she added. Police registered an FIR after the video surfaced on social media. The accused has since been arrested, police said.

A few days back, a Delhi University (DU) student, Chitra Singh, has alleged harassment by a professor and pressure from college authorities, while other students reportedly gave statements against her, leading to a public dispute Chitra uploaded an Instagram reel where she shared her experience claiming she was mentally harassed by an unnamed professor over an internal issue. After she posted the video about the alleged incident, she claimed the Head of Department (HOD) pressured her to delete the post and that her admit card was withheld just before an exam. Her Instagram video created a sensation on social media with various news portals taking her side and sympathising with her, demanding justice. However, her classmates and some other students claimed that the story was one sided and that she made false allegations. One major counter-allegation is that Singh only attended three days out of a six-month semester. It is also alleged that she posted her classmates' private phone numbers online (doxxing) & defamed her. Students have claimed that the allegations by Chitra has taken a toll on the mental health of the professor. Many users claimed that the viral video itself is shaky, lacks context, and doesn't clearly show harassment, leading some to believe that Chitra's video is a social media drama without factual basis. Till date, no FIR has been filed against anyone. SWIPE TO SEE THE VIDEO UPLOADED BY CHITRA AS WELL AS THE STATEMENT OF THE STUDENTS AGAINST CHITRA.
