You need to have a good education system, and I believe that 👉 Education should not be extremely expensive. 👉 Education should not be fully privatised. There can be private schools and colleges, but there is a role for good-quality government education, and for that, the government has to put money into the budget for education. So that’s the first thing. The second thing is that you have to create an atmosphere where jobs are being generated - not just jobs in the service industry and the IT industry, but also jobs in manufacturing and small and medium industries - so that they can help in the development of the country and young boys and girls can get jobs here. It is estimated that AI-enabled GCCs will likely contribute 30-35% of revenues of the India’s AI services market by 2028. Thus, India has the potential for becoming the global hub for building various AI products & services. Given the large population with 650 million smartphone users, we should create scalable models for sectors beyond finance such as healthcare, education, agriculture, MSMEs, exports, etc. India can also build AI products that fits diverse use-cases across the world. It can be a laboratory for developing and testing AI ideas. Our AI stack must be rooted in Indian languages, local contexts, and multimodal interfaces, so that it can be widely accepted and accessed by our citizens. Earlier this year Aaron Levie explained with martin_casado on the a16z podcast how AI fluency is one of the most powerful skills a new grad can have. The real value comes from knowing how to make AI work inside an organization. Most companies, both large and small, are slow to adopt new technology. They need people who can explain what AI can do, show them how to use it, and help them move faster. If you are fluent in AI, you can be that person. You can walk into a company, spot the areas where AI can save time or create new opportunities, and make it happen. That is a wedge into your first job and a way to stand out from everyone else.
