Not having homeless crackheads on the park bench is more important than you being able to skate bud

Skaters ofc thinking it’s all about them

Literally all this goes away if you jail criminals and ship the homeless drug addicts to work camps.

Yeah I love not being around homeless drug addicts more tbh

I'm pretty sure the main reason for those hostile designs is so homeless people can't sleep on them. That's what I was told anyways.

Pretty sure the homeless notice first

"I hate that I can't railslide on this thing that has been designated for old people to sit on. I am very smart."

Civilization is just one big rat race of getting away from the undesirables, as retarded assholes keep making it illegal to get away from the undesirables, so you have to find newer/shittier/more expensive ways to get away from the undesirables. We don't have to live like this.

The homeless decide who gets to use public spaces when they take over shit and decide it’s theirs. I want more of this architecture.

I fucking love this. Go home.

at least the ones in Budapest can be used as public buttplugs 🙏🙏🙏

this goes hard if you've never encountered an insane black bum with bright yellow jaundice eyes begging you for money

Bro trying to make me feel sorry for skaters. Fuck em

Hot take but having homeless people sleeping outside schools or bus stations isn’t something we should encourage

Marble gets ruined by skaters scraping them

Crazy to have a video explaining hostile architecture without mentioning the word “homeless”

Public spaces are for taxpayers, not for bums. But we can't jail bums for vagrancy anymore so this is the only legal way to deal with them.

I beg to differ, skaters are not the ones to notice first homeless people are

“Hey we need your money to keep create and keep up infrastructure for you to use” “hey you can’t use that”

None of that is public. You created this problem with your shenanigans.

In my city, a long curved bench covered in finely crafted wood was destroyed by extremely noisy and reckless skaters' vandalism in a year and had to be replaced with smaller benches with armrests. So let's now properly address what hostility actually is and who is behaving hostilely.

I have no sympathy for either the homeless junkies or skateboarders. Despite so much cultural zeitgeist, all the skaters I knew growing up were violent, clichey, edge-lord assholes.

"broken windows theory made disorder itself the enemy"? Hahaha. COMPLETELY retarded.

The funny thing is that these public spaces have all been taken over by the homeless. Even in their absence. Because they will sleep on it. Piss on it. Shit on it. Harass people. You can't have a public space. Reinstute the work house. Make homelessness illegal. Have them work for minimum wage at the work house. No drugs. No alcohol. Mandatory complete detox. Then you can have your public spaces back.

"designed to prevent theft, sleeping and skating" it's a bench, designed for sitting. not for stealing. nor sleeping, nor sports that prevent people sitting there and actually damage the surface (seen this over and over). hospitable, not hostile. (imagine multiple people going in to a skate park, lying down and sleeping in the middle of the run during the day. or damaging the concrete. or stealing a grind rail)

Stop lying We can’t have nice things bc blue cities refuse to enforce laws against criminals and homeless

Sorry people don't want their property damaged.

Good reminder on why skaters are bad people

It wasn’t just skaters it was the homeless

Well no.. I’m sure the homeless noticed first

Not everyone uses public spaces in a way that is fair to everyone else who wishes to use them. Hostile architecture is an attempt at fixing that.

You know what else stops you from skating? A fent addict homeless encampment parked on top of every flat surface. I feel like this avoided the actual reason most of this architecture was built. Some skaters have always had such a persecution complex they think every them everywhere is out to get them

Citing Jacobs "eyes on the street" as if she was referring to homeless people is diabolical @atlanticesque

??

boohoo skaters can't ruin infrastructure by skating on it, you can some of the destruction in the video
