More Misinformation from Jack Turban Dr. Jack Turban, a child psychiatrist at UC San Francisco and an ardent supporter of pediatric gender medicine goes on CNN and, as he often does, makes a series of false and misleading statements, including: ▶️Falsely claiming that all major medical associations endorse pediatric gender-transition interventions. (The American Society of Plastic Surgeons does not. See: ▶️Using causal language to characterize the supposed impacts of gender-transition treatments on minors. No study has been able to prove such a causal link. Studies have only found associations between these treatments and higher mental health metrics. ▶️Going along with the CNN anchor's misleading characterization of the notion that these treatments "have been used for decades." Until 2008, only about 120 minors in the world had had their puberty suppressed for gender dysphoria. It wasn't until about 2013 that cases of pediatric gender dysphoria shot up and these treatments started being used widely. So there really has only been about a decade of substantial use of the drugs. ▶️Falsely claiming we know that regret rates are low among those who received gender-transition interventions as minors. There has been woefully insufficient research on this subject, and follow-up has been too short and too sparse to make such definitive statements. See: ▶️Mischaracterizing the Cass Review's recommendations by suggesting that Cass wanted access to cross-sex hormones in particular expanded. The report recommended that puberty blockers in particular only be available in clinical trials, which are starting soon. See: Cass has said that some kids stand to benefit from these drugs. But she has expressed great concern that the current system is not set up to identify which kids are the best candidates. ▶️As he always does, Turban stressed the quantity of studies backing the use of these drugs in minors and not the quality. All systematic literature reviews, which are the gold standard of science, that have assessed these treatments have found the evidence backing them weak and inconclusive.

🚨 Transition surgery on minors should be criminal and Scott Jennings nails it! “It is a political earthquake. Two of the most powerful medical institutions in the United States just blew up one of the left's most protected sacred cows. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Medical Association have now both gone on the record saying the same thing: there is insufficient evidence to justify gender transition surgeries for minors, and these surgeries should generally be deferred to adulthood. That's not conservative media, that's not Republicans, that's not Donald Trump making a social media post. That is the medical establishment finally backing away. The plastic surgeons, eleven thousand of them, now warn that chest, genital, and facial surgeries for minors are irreversible and unsupported by solid long-term evidence. And the AMA, for the first time, is saying out loud what trans cult activists spent years trying to suppress, that we don't actually know if any of this helps kids, and we shouldn't be mutilating them while we figure it out. This is a total collapse of a narrative. Now, the AMA is enormous. The AMA, the American Medical Association, was among the leading groups opposing laws trying to restrict gender-affirming surgeries for minors just a few years ago, and the media would regularly cite the AMA to create an impression of expert consensus on this issue. The current shift isn't based on any significant change in the data available. The data really has always been nonexistent. This all speaks volumes about how previous recommendations that ruined countless lives were based on politics instead of sound science.”

BREAKING: ARCHBISHOP EAMON MARTIN URGED TO SPEAK OUT ON HATE CRIME BILL (NEW GENDER DEFINITION) Archbishop Eamon Martin is the Primate of All Ireland and President of the Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference. Martina Burke and Josiah Burke visited Armagh on Saturday to raise the Hate Crime Bill with the Archbishop. The Bill passed the Seanad (Senate) last week and will go before Dáil Éireann for a final vote this Wednesday. The Bill would establish a radical new definition of gender, stating that "gender...includes transgender and a gender other than those of male and female". We asked Archbishop Martin if he would use his position of power and influence to speak out on this issue. Whilst the Archbishop stated that he had spoken in the past on this issue, he acknowledged that he had not spoken on the Hate Crime Bill in recent days. There was no clarity forthcoming from him on whether he would clearly address the issue of this Bill at this critical moment. Whilst he said that there were lay people who were addressing this issue, we would question why the Archbishop himself is not speaking out. In an effort to dismiss public concerns, Minister for Justice Helen McEntee has repeatedly stated that the redefinition of gender is for the Hate Crime Bill only and will not affect any other legislation. McEntee repeated this during the Seanad sitting last Wednesday. These statements from Helen McEntee are absolute lies. The true intention of the Minister for Justice and the Department of Justice is to substitute the new definition of gender into every piece of legislation on the statute books that involves gender. This was made clear during the Seanad Debate on Wednesday last week when a private Fine Gael email from Helen McEntee to Deputy Richard Bruton was read out by Senator Ronan Mullen. That email was in relation to the new definition of gender in the Hate Crime Bill. The email stated that a review of the Equal Status Act and the Employment Equality Act is taking place and that when that review is finished, the definitions of protected characteristics in the Hate Crime Bill will be reconsidered to ensure consistency in definitions across the Statute Book. In public and to the Houses of the Oireachtas, the Minister is saying that the new definition of gender is for the Hate Crime Bill only. In private and to her Fine Gael colleagues, she is saying that all definitions of gender across the Statute Book will be rewritten. Such deliberate deceit from one in such a position of responsibility and authority is reprehensible. It calls for the Minister's resignation. It is unbelievable that in response to this deceit, Senator Ronan Mullen was at pains to say that come what may, "I have the greatest of respect and goodwill towards you and your family…and that will continue." We thank God for the recent closure of the Tavistock gender clinic, to which hundreds of vulnerable Irish children had been referred. So-called ‘professionals’ placed these children, many of whom suffered from mental problems, on a pathway to puberty blockers, mutilation and, sadly for many, suicide. This Hate Crime Bill with its new definition of gender would give legitimacy to this poisonous ideology which preys on the most vulnerable and allows for no dissent. This is the eleventh hour. An incredibly dangerous Bill is coming before the Dáil next Wednesday. We are calling on Archbishop Eamon Martin to speak out.

Media blackout! Premier Ford declares ALL media unwelcome at PC Convention in Toronto Sources tell us that the Premier is about to get an earful from angry delegates, and apparently, Ford doesn’t want this dirty laundry aired in public. Much like other years, the Toronto Congress Centre is the venue for the annual meeting of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party. But there’s a new twist to this year’s convention: all members of the media are persona non grata. Ontario PC spokesman Peter Turkington issued a terse statement the other day: “The Ontario PC Party Convention is a closed event and will not be open to media attendance.” But the question arises: Why? Well, no reason was given. That’s odd. The convention used to be open to the media. Actually, correction: In recent years, the Ontario PC Party inexplicably banned independent media from its conventions, including Rebel News. It's all very odd, given that Doug Ford used to attend Rebel News Live events as a guest speaker. Of course, that was before he became Premier. Since then, Ford cut ties with us. And again, no reason given. In any event, we are left to speculate what the unspoken reason is for the all-encompassing media ban this year. Sources tell us that the Premier is about to get an earful from angry delegates, and apparently, Ford doesn’t want this dirty laundry aired in public. We were also told many party members remain upset that Ford did his best to undermine Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre in the last federal election, and that continues to do so now. Just consider the date for the Ontario PC Party Convention: the same weekend the federal Conservatives are assembling in Calgary for their convention. That forced many Ontario PC members to choose which convention they would attend. And really, is this purposeful conflict not the pinnacle of pettiness for Doug Ford? Nevertheless, Rebel News dropped by the Congress Centre for answers. And get this: as we were heading in, Ford was heading out. We asked him a few questions, although he didn’t give any answers before he scurried away, ensconced within a Chevrolet Suburban. Par for the course, Toronto Police then informed us we could not even be in the parking lot, so we had to leave. Truthfully, they probably did us a favour given the frigid conditions… It seems that Doug Ford, who once ran on the slogan “Respect for Taxpayers”, doesn’t have a whole lot of respect for anyone these days. Sad.

Why the Gender Critical movement as it presently stands will never receive broad support: Gender criticality is about centering biological sex over the concept of gender being detached from sex, right? It's about not wanting men in women's spaces... right? And it's also about preventing childhood transition out of an abundance of caution of risks and regret. ... and there won't be broad public support for that blend of policy cocktail because the majority of people have at least a shred of compassion for the gender dysphoric ... -- --- -- At Genspect, I met a women (who I will call Megan) who I later learned was transgender. I had no idea. She passed perfectly convincingly as though she were female, and only those whom she wished to disclose her sex to had any idea that she was biologically male at all. Megan and I left the conference Sunday evening and spent the night (and the early morning) chatting while driving aimlessly around downtown Denver. I realized in that chat just how different hers and my Genspect experiences were. Everything negative encounter I experienced, Megan did not. While many were very uncomfortable with my presence, they were quick to welcome Megan. While some were expressive in their fear I was using the women's washroom (which I did not, for those who care), Megan was present in those spaces with no concern expressed by anyone. ... and in the aftermath of the conference, one of our photos insulted and demeaned, while the other's disappeared as the unremarkable conference attendee she was.... This is a problem that should concern us all, because the embodiment of someone like Megan at Genspect is the strongest argument for why gender dysphoric individuals desperately wish to transition young. We need to face the reality that, I didn’t receive my Genspect experience because I am trans, I got it because I am non-passing trans. I got it because I was not a child when I transitioned, I was 28 years old. That’s a chilling reality to face for those who wish to argue to abolish childhood medical transition. I want to be able to say stopping childhood medical transition is a good thing. Really, I do. I want to tell the 10 year old dysphoric boy and his mother who are navigating this complex domain that waiting is better. That undergoing an unobstructed male puberty, a process through which many boys will find their childhood feelings of dysphoria subsist entirely, is the prudent thing to do. That mother and son need to know that biology is real and that you can’t change your sex. They need to hear that comorbidities exist, as does social contagion, and that it’s in their best interest to take every possible precaution to rule out these possibilities at the hazard of lifelong regret from irreversible damage. Those conversations are not happening and they should be. There’s no excuse not to be having it. I want to say that there’s little downside to waiting until adulthood to transition… But I need to tell them the entire truth: that the bestowal of dignity and kindness will be much sparser when left to transition as an adult. We need to make clear that while the risk of transition as a kid is infertility and regret, the risk of transition as an adult is also regret, along with many more surgeries undertaken in a desperation to try fruitlessly to reverse the masculinization of the jawbone and the forehead, the nose and the voice. For large hands and a long face, there’s no solution to those at the present. To be completely transparent, I would need to tell that mother and her 10 year old son that, should it come to it, he probably won’t pass as an adult transitioner, and that when he fails to convincingly present to the world as adequately feminine—as a woman if you will—he will be labeled a clown, an appropriator of womanhood, a pedophilic threat to our children, and a human unworthy of love. -- --- -- You want to ban childhood transition — create space for gender non-conforming males. You want to hold rigidly to our gendered society—you are pushing gender dysphoric individuals who seek childhood transition even more desperately.
