Construction workers shouldn’t earn less because teachers are paid shit. The question should be how construction workers have managed to win higher wages from their shitty bosses and why doesn’t Labor pay education workers more (considering Labor is their boss at the moment). The answer is industrial action.

The bigger question is this: if these jobs are supposedly so poorly paid, why do many farmers say they struggle to recruit enough local workers while experienced workers from neighbouring countries continue to fill the vacancies? Perhaps the real debate isn't just about wages, it's also about the demanding nature of the work, labour shortages, and how South Africa secures enough workers to keep key agricultural industries running. The safety of workers is critical and so are the facts. There’s been a lot said about the CFMEU and Victorian workers this week. We stand firmly for workers’ rights. For fair pay, safe workplaces, and secure conditions. No one should fear having their wages cut or their hard-earned entitlements clawed back. And we can’t let this serious issue be the subject of untested and unfounded information. Victorians deserve honesty and workers deserve protection, not political games and the deep desire of the Liberals to claw back workers pay and conditions.
