A shoutout to @colormotor who I met in Berlin and who added the variable-width stroke feature to his fork of diffvg which is pretty much all the secret sauce to this. (And maybe figuring out how to build diffvg, but thanks to Claude that only took me about an hour)

It would be smarter to place the starting strokes closer to where they are needed, but like to make it difficult for the optimizers.
